Sweet. I'm only going to be 67, should I bother with gear really? My divine is capped.

With capped skill, HQ staff (from brd), and AF I had no resists or part-resists at all at 66. Thorny's experience seems odd, as I've known whms with terrible gear at 75 win using this method.

Would having any certain quests open affect this? I don't have any af quests open, but could other summoner quests, such as the avatar fights affect this?

I doubt it, I normally have at least one avatar quest open (I generally pick up entry key items whenever I can if I'm in towns with them), so I imagine I'd have had one open at the time I re-quested it. Couldn't say for certain though, it's been a while.

Thanks for the link and yes I read that. I was just hoping 1 person could actually VERIFY they've killed him 21-25. A lot of people recommended I low man farm him through nyzul but ironically no one yet has said "yup, when I farmed him it was via 21-25" lol.

Fastest I saw him respawn was third placeholder after last kill, so ~15 min not counting the time it took to run to the next Veteran pop.

Are being able to land hojo and etc essential for nin maat? I got him to like 30% and his mijin hit me for 600 and basically one shotted what I had left. I'm wondering if hojo and para are that much of a deal breaker.

I went in WHM66 with divine capped totally naked (just nq light staff) and it didn't resist any of the cast

I didn't bother, I got rocked by Mijin on my first try too, just bring potions.

and as a general guideline, for all maats, vile elixir / vile elixir +1, potions, remedies goes a long way.

Personally i did nothing but cast utsu, and ws for nin maat, so i'd say no.

I suppose you are level 66 or something? Cause i don't remember Mijin hitting for that high at level 75. Been a while, i suppose you can get meds to keep your HP at max and keep casting hojo/jubaku/kurayami every now and then. Not much trick to it or evasion-tank it.

Not so much a random question as a random request..

For seven years I've been mashing 3-4 macros per spell on Rdm and I just found the magical world of spellcast. I felt like time-traveling and slapping my younger self for not finding it sooner. Anywho, could anyone PM me a copy of their Rdm tanking xml? I more/less copied from windowers.net someone elses Rdm spellcast set and just tweaked it with my own equipment. I just couldn't find a tanking set..

Also, if anyone could PM me that is knowledgeable in this area and could on occasion answer questions via PM I would appreciate it. >_> I has lots to learn about my new found love.

It maybe BG but why would you get a bunch of "noob insults"? You have to start somewhere! Here's some suggestions from me.. although I'm sure others would have better responses.

If you want some 'easy practice' just go out and bore yourself to death DoT/Kiting Despot, Chigre, Cheesehoarder Gigiroon, etc. Those are some easy mobs that are generally easy to claim or pop with plenty of room for error (except Chigre if he fucking stones you.. fucker).

If you feel secure in your equipment/merits, try tackling Zipacna or Dea. Zipacna leaves little room for error and Dea requires a shit load of patience. You can also try your hand at soloing Ancient Goobbue as he's always up as well. He draws in but once you get the hang of things he's not so hard.

Really any solo on Rdm is about a heaping ton of patience, a sprinkle of luck, and a sprig of "I want to do this!".

As for low-manning, KSNM, BCNM, Etc. I'm not too familiar with any of that crap. All I know is the soloes I've seen on youtube included a lot of meds and shit for the KS/BCNMs. I'm sure someone else could help you out here and with other NMs to try out if you haven't already. (Wasn't too sure if you meant you've NEVER soloed ANY NM or what.. so forgive me if you've soloed all the easy ones I listed.)

Start with something easy. The most important thing is getting the very basic strategies down, which won't take long. The next most important thing is not panicking. If you can't calmly let something hit you with pdt gear on, with only 150 hp, then cast between its attacks, you don't really stand much of a chance.

Soloing is really not all that hard. However, you will more than likely make tons of mistakes and die to easy shit at first. All you can do is keep at it, and don't give up.

Zipacna leaves little room for error

Actually, i'd say just the opposite. I think the problem with zip for many people is that they treat it as some hard, long fight. In reality, it's a very easy, extremely quick fight. With a decent nuke set, it should take no more than 8~12 mins to kill it. All you really need to do is gravity, and spam nukes until it dies. Hell, i've done it in 6 mins /sch with shitty gear (314 skill, 121 int, +12 macc, 5 ice merits for enfeebs (which isn't really enough to consistently land bind/grav, probably around 80%~ land rate if i were to guess), and my nuke gear includes errant cuffs lololol). I didn't even bother recasting blink, and only needed to recast ss twice. What makes zip so easy is that by killing it so quickly, you can keep gravity up 100% of the time, making it pretty much a joke. By dragging it out to a 20~40 min fight, you make it 100x harder than it needs to be.



Some other easier nms to try (that aren't the joke that despot/chigre/etc are, since all you need to do for those is not stand still) are ungur/bune, kreutzet, and pelican. All of these are easy to bind, and can be slowed+paralyzed. The hardest one is probably pelican, since you have some aggro to deal with, and unless you bring it up past the rock (which is fairly difficult if you don't really know what you're doing), you have little room to kite. Still, it's not overly difficult, since it's easy to bind, and you will have room to take a step or two back, and can easily tank it while it's unbound.


Basically, start small, and slowly work your way up. Practice is the most important thing.

While wlegs would help a lot, they're not actually needed for almost anything. Chigre is one thing that requires them, and iirc there's like one other thing that does, but i can't remember what. Though you can get the asa pants if you want.
