How much you want to bet the public beta will be on the Bulletstorm disc when it comes out in February. M$ loves making people buy there sub par exclusives to be able to try out their AAA game beta's.

Retardation. Bulletstorm looks insane, and I can't remember the last time Epic made a game that wasn't good. Also, Bulletstorm isnt exclusive, so theres some further retardation points for your post.

Have to watch the terrible VGAs to see something "cool and unexpected"

Gears of War fans will want to tune into next month's Spike TV Video Game Awards, when something new, something Gears of War related will be shown for the first time.

Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski says the VGAs will be "showing off some new Gears of War gameplay," while also guaranteeing the following: "It's awesome. You're gonna love it. It's not what you're expecting."

Gears of War creators Epic Games are rumored to be creating an unspecified product in the Xbox 360 series that features some level of Kinect control. But since we're already expecting that, according to Cliff's rules, it must be something else. Plus, Cliff is sitting down during the Gears teaser, all but ruling out Kinect controls—but not ruling out Locust Tickers as playable pets in Kinectimals.

Bleszinski has flatly denied that Kinect controls would be included in next year's Gears of War 3.

When will we know for sure? When the Spike TV VGAs airs next month, December 11.

Gears of War 3 emerges on September 20

Gears of War 3 Release Date Revealed!
LONDON – 23 February 2011 – Get your calendar out, get a pen, and mark the 20th September 2011 as the day when Gears of War 3, this year's biggest blockbuster title, launches worldwide.
Gears of War 3 is the glorious conclusion to one of the most memorable sagas in video games' history and this is a date you certainly don't want to miss.

The story takes place eighteen months after the events of Gears of War 2 and the loss of the human stronghold of Jacinto. Marcus, Baird, Dom and company continue their fight to save human civilisation, as they battle the Locust and face new threats from within the planet throughout the campaign mode.

Gears of War 3 beta launching mid-April, will feature 4 maps

Who wouldn't want to test that out? Microsoft today announced that the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta will start in mid-April -- presumably for early-access Bulletstorm owners. The public tryout will feature three, "new" versus modes and four maps (to be decided by a community vote this month). No end date for the beta was given.

Voting for the beta maps opens today on the Gears of War Facebook page and ends Monday, February 28.

Gears of War 3 gold Retro Lancer to be exclusive multiplayer beta unlock

Aside from the opportunity to test out Gears of War 3's multiplayer before its retail release, the forthcoming beta will feature at least one additional incentive for Gears heads to enter: an unlockable, gold-plated version of the Retro Lancer (modeled above by Cole Train). This new (old) rifle, with bayonet, made a cameo appearance in Gears 2 and will feature in the new game.

Epic hasn't decided exactly how the gold Retro Lancer will be unlocked in the beta for use in the retail version of Gears 3, but, during a press event this week, producer Rod Fergusson offered a rough idea of what it might take. "If you play -- right now, we're still fiddling with the numbers -- but right now we're talking like 90 matches," Fergusson said. "If you play 90 matches and get, say, 100 kills with [the Retro Lancer] weapon, [the gold version is] yours. There's no other place to get it." Fergusson also promised there would be additional unlockables in the beta, though he didn't go into specifics.

The Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta will launch some time before the game's September 20 release. Early access to the beta can be secured by purchasing the limited-run, "Epic Edition" of Bulletstorm, available now.

Gears of War 3 beta: Bulletstorm players in April 18, GameStop pre-orderers join April 25

Nobody should have to wait for the chance to carve up their best friends with gas-powered chainsaw rifles -- luckily, interested parties can ensure their entry into the Gears of War 3 beta on April 25. All you have to do to grab a golden ticket is pre-order the Locust-massacring shooter at GameStop, and you'll be eligible to participate in the three-week beta testing process.

If you grabbed the Bulletstorm "Epic Edition," you'll be able to get your hands dirty one week earlier, starting April 18.

Participants in the beta will be able to unlock not only the Gold-Plated Retro Lancer, but a whole bevy of bonuses (listed after the jump). All that's left to do now is plan what kind of murders you're going to make first. Us? We're gonna shoot a guy, and then stomp on him, then stand him up, and then do something unspeakable to him with a grenade.

Gears of War 3 Beta Unlockables:
Beta Tester Medal - Complete one match in the beta to unlock the Beta Tester medal, which will carry over to your gamer profile in the final game. The Beta Tester title will be featured in the "Gears 3" multiplayer lobby as well.
Thrashball Cole - Complete 50 matches in any game type to unlock the Thrashball Cole character variant in the beta. Once unlocked, complete 10 matches as Thrashball Cole during the beta and the character will carry over to your gamer profile in the final game.
Gold-Plated Retro Lancer - Show your ultimate "Gears of War" fandom by unlocking the Gold-Plated Retro Lancer. Complete 90 matches in any game type to unlock it for the beta, and score 100 kills with it once unlocked to carry the exclusive weapon skin over to your gamer profile in the final game.
Flaming Hammerburst - Complete one match by Sunday, April 24 and unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Lancer - Complete one match during the week of April 25 and unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Sawed-Off Shotgun - Complete one match during the week of May 2 to unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Gnasher Shotgun - Complete one match during the week of May 9 to unlock this weapon variant.
