Eorzeapedia is strictly NDA for the most part, as per SE request, no picture/video linking, but discussion is okay. As for the wiki info itself, only time I see the wiki being updated is when SE releases official news. So unless Famitsu/Dangeki gets hands on something new or the main sites get updated be it the jp or en (seeing as how they sometimes lag in updates), they tend to write up w/e new info was released on the wiki.

Best bet is to stick with BG up until open beta for info. I'll try get one the mods to come by here and lay down the Good Word!

The only reason BG Wiki didn't take off was due to the completeness of FFXIClopedia.

It would probably do loads better if it started from the get-go. But hey, that's not my call! ;3

Good to just have the site navigation and infrastructure set up already so we can just input and change new data and discoveries as we go along.

What Kirb said, plus there's no harm in getting all the information down in one central location and labeling shit with {{Alpha}} or {{Beta}} templates until the info is finalized.

I'd love to get in on a wiki community from the ground up that's not fraudwiki, but so far they have the prettiest website, so it's likely going to end up them in the end.

Make it exclusive this time Regardless, wiki want. If its fraudwiki, so be it. Could have a BG one if people were so inclined. Not like it matters, most of their stuff came from here anyway, as we all know.

People love information about something, even if its not accurate or complete (as you can tell by these forums). Having a place alpha/beta testers can add/edit info on changes constantly.. would get alot of attention (from SE/people). Although this would also make SE have a easier time firing off a cease and desist order if they wanted too.

I remember a similar thing a guy made a wiki for the expansion alpha/beta, but his site was in a country blizzard apparently couldn't touch even with a cease n desist order apparently.

I'd like a BG wiki as well (I always wanted to move to BG wiki for FFXI, but it just couldn't compete), and I it would probably have a better chance if it started at the beginning.

I would be interested in helping to make a BG FFXIV wiki but right now there isn't any reason to. Everything that isn't NDA protected is posted on the main site already.

Honestly thats the only reason, could make one but it would be very very small.

Also Eorzeapedia is already there and is recognized by SE and all.

BG wiki is plausible, although it would be a needless duplication of otherwiki's database which will in all likelihood be entirely adequate.

Interesting question to pose though: since FFXIV is probably gonna be pretty huge compared to XI, what will happen to BG's troll culture of demanding excellence? There's gonna be alot of shitposting when the game releases and it's going to need judicious flaming.

Fuck mods, Sono should just get the prominent assholes together, give them custom titles and carte blanche to troll the fuck out of advanced. BG elitism has always been self-regulating; the mods have fuck all to do with it.

Well... could just temp ban people so they can't troll/spam as much! (not sure if mods on bg are givin the power to temp ban though but I'm sure its possible to set it so they can since bg/ns use the same forums software!)
