This, from Union you can go a couple of blocks east to the Quincy Brown line stop, take the Brown line going towards Kimball.

When you hit the Fullerton stop on the Brown line there should be a free transfer available to the Red line, take the Red line towards Howard, a few stops later will be Addison, which lets out right by the stadium.

Speaking of this, can anyone explain to me the Harlem Effect? No matter what time, day/night/weekend I'm on 290, traffic slows or stops at the Harlem and Austin exits, FOR NO RAISIN. Is it just because they're left exits? I DEMAND ANSWERS.

IMO, that's the reason. For the stretch leading up to it you have the right lane which is constantly dealing with the on-ramp/off-ramp traffic. The two right lanes are truck lanes, leaving the inside lane for express/cars, trying to go 70+.

If you think about it, the traffic going south on Harlem turning left onto 290, when the left turn signal goes on, a dozen cars in a tight pack get onto the on-ramp, and are going maybe 35-40mph by the time they start merging. Drivers in the left lane have no choice but to drop it down to 45-50 to accommodate them. So with those cars merging, the fast lane becomes the slow lane, while the right lanes (your best bet to go fast) are full of trucks/people going slow because they're in the right lane. Driving out of the city, it's the exact same thing.

Really the whole problem would be solved if they closed the Harlem on-ramp. If you forced people to use Austin, where the on-ramp becomes a new lane, people could fly through that entire stretch, from 1st I think it is essentially all the way to 90 before you'd have to slow down.

2.50 if I recall. They might have upped the rate. I'll double check. Metra ticket will vary depending on departure/arrival.

Edit: I realize this isn't helpful and apologize. If you're coming in for the weekend you should probably just grab a hotel room near Wrigley and walk everywhere... prices are lower on a lot of places lately due to impending financial doom and such.

Pretty sure the last price hike was 2.50 for the CTA. Depending on your train travel and how long your staying, investing in a day pass or a 3 day pass saves quite a bit of money.
