    Futurama was not batshit-crazy off the wall with random shit going on that defied explanation, most of the plotlines were well thought out, written, and executed.

    Sure the first time you watch it you wonder about an alcoholic robot, a squid that talks and probably got his medical degree from a less than credible university, a geriatric scientist and a one-eyed pilot who probably lacks the necessary depth perception to pilot anything, but once you get past such trifles the show makes perfect sense.
