Shadow Lord doesn't hold a candle to the sheer annoyance that is Darkheir Grradhod is what ive told people that haven't done the BCNM.
If you can beat Splitting Heirs with a non manaburn setup, Fiat Lux is a walk in the park.

7 runs later we got 4 necks and 2 capes
5 grips
0 Shadowlord armor
lol
Dunno if this was posted or not but seems to have rapid enmity decay. Me and the other sam were constantly losing hate throughout the fight for no apparent reason occasionally. (brd singing pulling hate after a 1k gekko, etc)
How easy is it to zerg? the sooner these fights are done the better as far as im concerned with all of this congestion.
You lose hate when he changes his weapon forms. It also seems to make him immune to magic/debuffs for just the briefest moment. So brief it's hardly worth mentioning, but it can make you go "wtf".
I think him changing forms makes him immune to physical damage as well, very briefly ofc. 2 of my weapon skills did 0 damage and was completely random, other than that he just changed forms iirc. This happen to anyone else?Originally Posted by Gwynplaine
Oh yeah and blighting blitz is not absorbed by third eye. Got one shotted earlier today with TE up x.x.
Whoever suggested BRD/SMN was a genius. Used Thunderspark to depop adds everytime. The BRD cannot be doing anything when in two sword form though whatsoever, only waiting for pops. This helps the RDM not having to be constantly weakened.
Also found that Elegy was 100% resist when in two sword form, tried it over 10 times both Carnage and Battlefield. Never got resisted once in one sword form.
JP have the line going on Valefor and we jumped it twice, lots of angry JP....
Did the fight tonight. PT members said Tomahawk did a noticeable amount of defense down on him.
Drk is good for form change, when it switches weapons a stun can keep it from beating others up. While it's switching weapons it will take 0 damage. Changing form also removes magic/physical absorb. And yes third eye will get you one shotted with Blight Blitz. I just stun that move since the shadow move is faster.
Did this on Quetz tonight with a pick-up group, and was still quite simple with our setup of 2x DRK/NIN, WAR/NIN, BRD, WHM, RDM. 2x DRK is pretty spiffy for this fight cause between the two of them you can pretty much stunlock the majority of his TP moves. Maybe he got lucky, but he only used the clone move once on our run. Also I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT SKIMP on the holy waters! Probably want 2 stacks per fight for all melees. Drops were Nightfall, lightning ore, demon horn, hi-reraiser.
Also had 90+ people in the Throne Room waiting to do this fight. When we got there we discovered that some JP player had taken the initiative to set up a line and call out an order based on first come first serve. While it was very nice of him to do, he must have been very bored to be doing that for hours. Luckily nobody was being a jerk and skipping. We had to wait about an hour to do the fight, but it was worth it, really fun fight.
DRK SAM/NIN SAM/NIN. Shared tanks. DRK stuns. SAMs don't use Hasso/Seigan -- Just use Utsusemi. Blighting Blitz is easily avoided with fresh shadows, or stunned if you're DRK is watching. Careful of Implosion, stun if possible.
RDM Diaga -- wait a second before casting, as Rocl said.
Are we talking about the same form? I was never able to land Blind, Poison, or Slow when he had two swords out, though the first couple of fights I had misjudged the timing of Shadow pops so I tried to cast as little as possible. However, the minute he was swinging a great sword, I could land them with no problem whatsoever in shit gear. (Well, Poison was a little harder to land than the other two, but I digress.)
The bard in my group came to the same conclusion I did, except with Elegy instead of Slow.
There was 2 of them from what I saw, Did 3 runs, 1st run there was 0 line/people waiting and went in no wait, came back and there was 60 ish ppl with one guy controlling the line, seemed to work well and no one skipping ahead. 3rd time up where was a lot more but a different guy controlling the line so they must rotate or something, either way its very appreciated working together and playing fair.... well that is until the typical ex-midgar hnm douches came in and skipped ahead lol. always got to ruin a good thing don't we midgar?
As for drops maybe ive missed some posts but I was under the impression the gear shared a slot, but on our 3rd run we snagged Nightfal and body in same pool.
ifrit just got this shit and i heard the drop rate is mad low
anyone can have an estimate %?
