Other melee can work but drk is by far the best dd for this fight.
We have shit luck for drops on this fucker. And then he likes to do his multi hit WS(forget the name) and 1 hot the DD -_-;
well since this thread is bumped.. I'm going to ask my question. Hope its in the right place.
Just curious, On Fenrir, the JPs (mostly) unlocked this 2 times. Now it doesn't appear that anyone is trying at all. Are other servers unlocking this regularly still? (I know I'm part of the problem.. I went up there a couple times by myself but not much help, I would go help if there was an effort to do it)
Slyph just unlocked for the 2nd time. Was nice and quiet all week until Friday on... now there's always 100+ people in line.
get shit done as long as its hot, because when most people will cap out on their desired items ---> good luck on getting fiat lux open. I am still unsure if Gilgamesh will open a 3rd fiat lux, lots of bodys helms sword running around, not to mention the cape, necklace price went to hell...
The good news is like 18 people at lv 75 can get this unlocked. the bad news is that finding 18 people to spam campaign for you to unlock it is going to be a bitch.
Side note. NEVER trust any drks other than yourself for this fght cause they dont know how to stun worth a damn or use sleep bind etc to hold hate.

I didn't see it asked, but nice to know for future knowledge~ SL is open /w Bastok owning Xarc and Sandy owning Beau.
I'm gonna say that it would take more than one alliance to realistically do this. I spent 12 hours yesterday, from 8PM - 8AM est with a JP LS laying waste to campaign mobs till they ran.
I spent most of that time with 4 pts (split between 2 alliances of 2 pts each) going back and forth between castle zvahl & the keep basically killing everything as it popped. This wasn't even counting the group we had in xarc, which was at least another 2 pts, probably more because not everyone was on the LS at the time.
We had done beaucedine on friday night so that was taken care of, but when I started xarc was barely touched and we hadn't even gone to the zvahl zones yet. By the time I finally logged xarc was comfortably in hand, castle zvahl was about 60/40 sandy/bstmen, and the keep was about 40/60 sandy/bstmen.
So to take 3 of the zones it took multiple alliances 12+ hours to gain control, and mind you that's not counting beauc. And these weren't shout group scrubby WG lerpers, these were some hardcore old school JPs with multpile relics among the groups that had a fairly co-ordinated attack going.
well... FUCK
I was actually wondering just what influences the northlands so much. I asked in the random question thread but didnt get a response. But just a list of things that can influence the zones like Baileys and Keep would be great.
Looking for things like, which Campaign ops (if any) have an influence on northlands, if killing normal demons/quads/yags/orcs have any influence, killing the Zhalv fortalice...things?, and if the army is "Victorious" do you make no progress?
Whenever i take a group up to try out (usually an alliance or so) we dont seem to make any progress. So a nice "To do" list would be great.
We did no OPs, didn't touch the fortalice things. We literally just ran between the 2 zones and killed the campaign mobs. Just the normal mobs, didn't mess with the bosses. Keep pulling until they run away, head back to the other zone.
Without tags aoe's aren't aoe, they only hit whoever has hate, nothing aggros but the mobs still link. Bring holy waters because the taurus mobs still doom.
It's really very simple, just takes forever. You can't expect to just go up there for an hour and make a difference.
A lot of bosses are easier because their AoEs will only hit one target.
This ^ sounds about exatly right as far as how we did it the "gear" of players.
DRK is a wonderful job, I didn't mean to bash DRK so hard but once again This ^. A DRK that never misses his stuns is a force on any mob that has devastating TP moves. Also yes this can be 4 manned with DRK, the time limit isn't a problem either. I was just comparing DRK to SAM, WAR and DRG, to which it loses in dmg by those alot from the DRKs that I went with. They had good gear like T.Ring Shadow Breastplate, red curry, perdu scythe etc but the ones I went with lacked haste up the butt and possibly acc so thats probably why.
DRK/nin just isn't all that in non-zerg situations on any mob. Just a lame opinion though. Biased cause i'm not a fan of DRK.
Anyway, We unlocked the BCNM again this week so more gear.
I don't need body or helm, If I did, we woulda went 0/1,000 on all of them. Thats my luck.
Overall you don't want to kill the bosses though. While it does lower their morale, which makes them retreat sooner (if you kill enough leaders to visibly move the bar), it also makes the repop for the group increase. For maximum influence you want to force as many retreats as possible, and that's easiest to have a unit spawn every 20-30 minutes (as fast it gets, I think), and retreating ASAP by killing 10% of current fortifications. (Usually approx. 20 mobs, Fortilaces count as 2 Fortifications and I'm 99% certain they can proc a retreat if they die @18 or 19 mobs)
Basically lay sieges to normal campaign mobs as often as possible, and kill the fortilaces when they pop if you want. If people are skilling up on them they might get angry but w/e. If the zone is subject to campaign battle (Beau/Xarc) you really want to try as hard as possible to win the battles b/c I'm fairly certain having the Allies retreat is a straight +10% influence to Beastmen and -10% to attacking nation.
Some of these numbers are guesstimates, and what not, but it should be basically sound.
Last week there was 1 jp alliance that took keep/castle. I stayed with them for a few hours but it was very boring. I noticed on quetz you don't really need a group to take the northlands since they are both popular campaign zones.
Open on Diabolos finally.
Now to get cockblocked for my /NIN being short.
