looooooooool
house? eat shit and die.
The first 3 seasons of The Real World were actually good and everything since, be it that show or any other reality show, has been garbage.
And where the fuck is Friends? Again, after the first 3 seasons, that show sucked.
Married With Children should be on there also.
No. After The Real World Las Vegas was when it stopped being good
I think the real question is what show ended when it should (on its own terms I mean, not getting cancelled cuz of failed marketting like Kings)? Studios milk everything til they run dry, it's just business.
Battlestar Galactica (new one)
Seinfeld (sort of)
Breaking Bad (next year)
Boondocks (sort of?)
Babylon 5
I remember Prison Break was supposed to have a 3 season arc but I kind of lost interest in S2 and writers strike fucked stuff up too so not sure
Others as well I'm sure.
American Idol/America's Best Dance Crew
back in the day Seinfeld seemed corny to me the last 2-3 seasons, but re-watching them on dvd now and it's fucking gold.
Realworld just needs better casting, needs more entertaining psychopaths, the last 7-ish seasons have been a snorefest.
Newsradio should have stopped when phil hartman passed. I mean I like Jon Lovitz in very small doses, but to replace Phil? you just can't.
fucking prison break
I never watched Buffy until they started showing it on FX. Then I watched until she randomly had a sister and i was like what the fuck is going on here and it started getting a bit ridiculous
Semi-necro bump. Just finished watching Firefly series again. I can't emphasize enough how this series was so prematurely cut off. That is all.
Most of it is right on... The two exceptions I would make are The Simpsons and That 70s Show.
The Simpsons is still incredibly popular, the ratings may be down a bit, but the show still is fairly full of quality. The show has a fan base that is loyal and is still going strong. The movie a couple of years ago proved that they still can write the funny.
That 70s Show would not even be on this list if not for having its two central stars forced it out with their departure. After Topher and Kutcher left, the show was dead. However, right up to that point it was a great show and it actually had continued laughs til the end, just not as strong.
If both of these shows are on the list you would seriously have to include shows like South Park. Which would be idiotic as well.
Anything reality related. American idol, dancing with stars, survivor, best dancer, w/e, all sucks.
House hasn't stayed too long ... yet. They need to go back to what made house a great show though. The House+Cuddy stuff is old. Need to get back to being a procedural that was good. The last episode I saw which had Cameron in it was pretty good. Its sad that they pretty much wrote her out of the show.
I would however, guess that the show has at least 2-3 more years just based on the off network sales it has. So in the end, it probably will end up like ER or Law & Order and be on the air for an extra year cause they will make money with it.
I think the main problem with The Simpsons is the overall decline in the show's quality. Compare the first few seasons to what we got now. Most of the episodes are more like a zany cartoon with a plot than an actual sitcom.
That 70s show I haven't seen a lot of it, the only season I hated was when Eric left and they replaced him with that one guy.
shows like these don't really get 'bad' the way scripted shows do. if you watch them year after year they just get boring really but, for instance, I only started watching survivor and Idol again recently after a long break without watching because they got boring to me and now I find them interesting again.
