The thing I loved most about ZOE2 was how fluid its controls were. I still don't understand how other mecha games can't achieve that.

"Crappy" controls is one of the main characteristics what makes mecha games interesting.

Great news! Remember playing the multiplayer mode in Z.O.E.2 all the time with friends. xD If I remember, there weren't that many orbital frames to choose from. but it was still great fun.

I remember beating ZoE1 back when it first came out and thinking it was good, but I don't remember so much of it now. I'm a big Kojima fan, so I want to get into it again.

With that said, anyone know of a site that sells 1 and 2 new for cheap? I don't want to get them used if possible. Most places I've looked at have them for like $80+ each lol.

I gave mine away, ZoE2 that is, the first was a piece of crap... at least compared to the 2nd one; but before giving it away I installed it in my PS2's hdd ;o

Btw, are the orbital frames (gears in my young eyes) considered "mecha"? I've always thought of "mecha" as boxy characters like fucking Power Rangers robots. On the other hand you have the ZoE ones which are more humanoid, but I digress.

Mecha generally just refers to any humanoid/bipedal vehicles. Orbital frames would definitely fall under that distinction.

I was actually looking forward to ZoE1 by itself. The trailers and videos at the time were amazing, everything looked so fluid. So when I finally played it and it turned out just as well, I was pleased.

MGS2 was for me, the icing on the cake. Though I bet some would feel that ZoE1 was the icing on MGS2, lol.

You need to get on that shit. Most everyone will agree that 2 was vastly better than 1. That's not to say 1 wasn't a fantastic game, but it just pales in comparison to the second.
