You do realize what tools BLU has to make it an awesome tank? This is something that not every job can do with just /nin..

This is what I mean about taking something you like (playing BLU) and then misinterpreting that to mean you are the best in the world at everything.

Fact in evidence: If BLU was as amazing a tank as you claim it to be, then people would not prefer PLD, NIN and RDM over them. The point is that no one uses BLU to tank things. Your beliefs don't mesh with reality.

And don't claim that it is because everyone is ignorant of BLU's insane tanking skillz. This isn't 2005, if people could find a way to make a BLU tank on par with PLD, NIN or RDM people would use BLU too.

BLU has a very high success stun, aside from Head butt which is the most useful one, we have temporal shift which functions just like Stun although high recast timer.

Temp shift has a 2 minute recast, so you are going to need that accuracy if you want to stun back to back.

Again, for the 500th time, I didn't say its the best at everything in the world... Stop assuming that. Yes it matters on non-zerg fights, some things you low man and it can be invaluable in regards to saving MP/HP/lives.

You may not be typing "BLU is the best at everything" but your arguments defend the notion that BLU is the best at everything. It's not an assumption, it is the argument you are making.

The ultimate question is this: Have you ever stopped and said to yourself "Wow, if we just had a BLU things would have been totally different"? Nevermind, your answer would undoubtedly be yes...

I'm a "career BLU" myself (one of the two "token blue mages" in my LS) yet I too would opt for a SAM (or other DD) over a BLU for the reasons previously mentioned. The BLU that run around at 70+ in full AF and MP shit just make me want to drown kittens, though fortunately I haven't seen too many around as of late.

While I love the job to death, I generally won't bring it to an event unless asked to do so specifically. In those cases it's SAM or DRG (probably more so the latter now after getting an aurum body). Though I will say I'd like to go to at least one more merit party on BLU, just for shits and giggles.

The real reason BLU is good is because redhead Mithra in BLU AF is wonderful. Yes, I know you are one of those Zeotah!

Personally I really like playing with great BLUs. I don't know what else to say that won't either incite more VIOLENCE or hasn't already been said. So I'll end on a positive note.

I knew a taru who had SAM and BLU he loved them both. But he preferred to bring BLU to dynamis because he was doin "More things"(not necessarily more dmaage) he got bored of Swing Medi Hasso WS. BLU he actually had to time stuns for the PLD tank we had cause no competent WARs or NINs >.> And he was only ever outparsed by our Excellnt SAMs.

I Even played his char a few times to mess with BLU and it was a fun experiene. Of course its not the Top Dog DD its fun. And im glad its a job you've decided to lvl and try. But u will NOT need the sword merits for BLU. I would suggest Polearm 8/8 Archery 6 and H2H6. I balanced archery and H2H to 6 simply because both jobs arent always used. And you said that you really enjoyed MNK.

DRG MNK SAM BLU RNG are good jobs to have. BLU for when u wanna stay Busy. MNK when ur angry and wanna be a monkey, SAM when u wanna see Numbers. and DRG when u wanna make birds cry. and RNG when u wanna be the hell away from the action but still do damn good damage.

EDIT: And dont forget that having 2 BLUs through the majority of the CoP missions made it much easier. Especially Airship , promys, and diabolos. Stun Lock made them hella easy.

It has very little to do with it being easier to be bad at one job the other, it has to do with the fact that one job is inherently weaker than the other. A bad, average, and excellent blue mage is still going to be weaker than a respectively bad, average, and excellent samurai.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't see how a blu can compete with 2handers while meriting. They can get excellent exp/hr in a burn with other blus on birds but it's just not logical for them to exp outside of a burn or solo. I have most everything a blu could want except a tizona and I'm sure I couldnt function at a mamool camp.

We had a guy just like that in our LS over the summer (except replace SAM with DRG). Once he got his hands on a novio, he was a little monster.

I will admit BLU is fun because you get to do more than just the standard melee/WS crap but the gear is just a pain in my ass. All I want for my BLU anymore is relic legs so I can store it and quit the job.

This can change after lvl cap, but jumping from 7/8 h2h to 8/8 gives +1 base dmg. Also merits for MNK are more important cuz of acc of 1h job and Asuran 8hit WS. Ofc pizza helps but still for me MNK is 8/8 h2h or no MNK so its out of the question. DRG and SAM shares polearm merits so its 8/8 here also. Rest go for 4/8 sword for BLU. I'm passing on RNG now for 2 reasons. @1 I have system on salvage to choose 3 priority I want (That will be Usu body, Morri legs, Morri feet) so i have no chance for getting skadi feet, legs fast. 2@ I will have to many jobs to equip tbh BLM BLU finish SAM MNK DRG. Also i have low chance to get hope torque and Zha'Go Barbut mostly cuz i wont have time to focus on this 2 items and probably only way i could get them is dedicate a lot of time for it since i dont have end game ls atm.

sounds like your set then^^ and i really do hope that u enjoy blu even tho the small MP Pool might make it hard at time. just remember its not about spam. its about lasting. Because one fight doin more damage than everyone means the next fight ur on ur knees gettin no damage. But u should really look into a breath build sine ur galka. can get some insane damage off some of them with enough HP and AF2 Helm. not always usefull but for some kited fights it makes it fun. tho BLM will deff do better.

Yeah I know its not about spam. I will also try to set plasma+actnic and Fire spit + Zephyr in most set in which it will be possible for refresh and conserve mp. Now i enjoy my 1200+ Death Scissors on 65 at Imps
