Confused about bazaar "Tax"

Everyone is assuming that there is going to be no AH system in XIV because SE said they want to have a different system. Personally, when I read the SE statement my thought wasn't "There will be NO AH" it was simply, "There will be a different AH". They could just have easily meant that they plan to make it an actual Auction type system or something to that effect. Still have an AH but it doesn't work the same as XI's

If with that kind of search system the item's name as the only variable, I'd be a little concerned. It sounds fine if you know what you're looking for, but not so much when you're looking or an upgrade for your beetle armour on your rarely played class and have no idea what the next tier of armour is, or if you've even skipped a few tiers or whatnot.

Not quite. You can search by different parameters. Say you're wearing Bronze and you don't know the next upgrade is Scale. You could search by level and defense. So you could search for an item that's higher than level 3, and has more defense than what you're currently wearing, and it would pop up Scale if someone was selling it. I really did like the system in PSU and it's something I wouldn't mind seeing implemented in another MMO.
