If all things go well for this new take on Masters of the Universe, it's sure to center on otherworldly being Prince Adam, a nine-year-old who crash lands on Earth after being separated from his Magical Sword – the only link to his home planet, Eternia. Years later, adult Adam tracks down the powerful weapon, and finds himself thrust into a cosmic battle against a whole bunch of evil forces, including Skeletor. To beat the baddies, Adam soon realizes that he first must uncover the mysteries of his past to become He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

I think it looked fun. Got real heavy Thor: Ragnarok vibes from it. But hey I loved that movie, so I'll give it a chance. Skeletor looked pretty cool.

I really hope the whole Earth plot is like 20 minutes so they can spend the rest of the movie with these ACTION FIGURES COME TO LIFE fighting each other.

No, the only reference to Earth iirc is that Queen Marlena (Adam/Adora's mother) is an astronaut from Earth. I don't think the whole earth bit came into play until the 80's movie or maybe the DC/MotU crossover comics, but I've never read them so I dunno if He-Man goes to Earth or if Super Man comes to Eternia.
