the sad part is that even though Dragon (long2) was simplified from 16 strokes to a more reasonable 5, when you see the 32 stroke ta4 or 64 stroke zhe2 in simplified chinese, they still use the old form of dragon in the character and it's the same in both simplified and traditional.

Luckily those words are rarely used lol

Sometimes I'm glad I chose Japanese...not so much because of the 64 stroke character there, because its just the same thing over and over. Its the 26-36 stroke ones in there. Then again, the trade off is strokes and tones instead of really really annoying grammar. Whatever, going to have to do some Chinese at some point anyway.

From what I can tell 華 is still used sparsely in Japanese with a similar meaning, but I think 花 has taken its place with some of its old uses. I.e. 花札 may have been 華札 since 華 has a dictionary meaning for Japanese playing cards, but now its written 花札, same thing with 生花 (ikebana). May have changed when Japanese underwent its own standardizing/simplification. Also, 龍 still used in Japanese names, 竜 is the common use I think, what is the simplified in Chinese?

On topic - that site just looked like random junk (not referring to the moon runes its written in).

Fun.　I'm just going to stop before I keep getting all nerdy. Always nice to be able to read some of those although I have like no Chinese knowledge. Namely, tornado is very similar.
