It was funny because my uncle drove by a protesting of this sort at a military kid's funeral and he was in his work truck with a trainee. So he rolled down the window and drove by real slow, looks over at the protesters and yells
"I SUCCCK DICK AND THIS IS MY LOVER" The guy he was training just about shit his pants, lmfao

I hope it gave all of them nightmares. I really feel sorry for some of them, because the Westborough motherfuckers are the only people and lifestyle they've ever known. It must be a huge burden to carry around all that hatred all the time, and spend every day of your life worrying about what other people are doing.

I am assuming his surprise is that he typically disagrees with you, I don't know for sure, obviously. I know if someone, whose opinions I typically disagreed with, posted something that I agreed with I would be a bit surprised.

I've spoken to him once. Ever. That I can recall, anyway. For him to roll that out having the reputation he has is both funny and almost kind of offensive. It's like being called a messy motherfucker by Creamsoda over there. You'd be like, hold up, what?

These people are absolutely the scum of the earth. I don't have any idea what makes them think that attacking people at a time when they're incredibly vulnerable is going to win hearts and minds to their cause. Their whole schtick seems counterproductive to their actual goal: spreading their message. I know it gets press, but I think that's probably setting more people against them than it is bringing in new people.

They're desperate. America is increasingly tolerant of homosexuals, even in traditional conservative areas (probably because we have bigger things to worry about these days) and these idiots want things to go back to the way things were.

I don't think spreading their message is an issue, I don't see how anyone reading this could feel anything but sympathy for the man and outright disgust for the church.

I mean, the deceased wasn't gay, so... maybe I'm approching this wrong, but what do dead soldiers have to do with "tolerating homosexuality"? Or this dead soldier in particular? So by their logic, if USA would throw all homosexuals in prison, US soldiers wouldn't die. Why are they happy that soldiers are dying?

I guess I would consider that if I were head of a church that wanted to return to a previous set of morals. I'd be trying to show people why that is a better option/path, not scare them away by being all batshit insane and whatnot. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit by assuming they're even capable of thinking in that manner.

I think it's because soldiers defend America and they think America is a giant shithole that God is punishing for being a giant shithole, basically. It's pretty convoluted and strange, considering the military has always (until recently with the whole discussion about repealing "Don't ask, don't tell") had some pretty strict anti-homosexual activity policies. If anything, they were closer to being allies by upholding, to a degree, the sort of values the church preaches. It's very strange.

That's... pretty messed up. I mean, being happy about your own countrymen being killed is crazy no matter how you rationalize it.
