Ooooookay, I'm never going near lakes and rivers.
Did that backflip guy knock himself out or did he just lay there in defeat?
That hurt to watch.
Im still laughing at the Lebron gif.
Definitely a male Dobsonfly those things are all over the place in southern Missouri. You are lucky you met a male the females have shorter but stronger jaws and are more defensive. Female will pierce you if you tried to touch it.

They fly and bite, what's not to love?
While they do look ferocious, the chance of randomly being bitten are very slight. They spend most of their life on the bottom side of rocks and when they do get exposed they try to hide again so they don't become fish food.
Granted, I have been bitten by them before, but that's because I was actively searching for them and catching them. Out of the hundreds I've probable handled, I've been bitten maybe 3 or 4 times. The bite really isn't that bad, similar to someone pinching you hard. What's worse to me though is the creepy feeling of all their appendages when they crawl on you.
Found mine up in the mountains, there weren't any large bodies of water nearby. Poked it a couple times, it just moved it's head up and down, didn't even bother trying to fly away or anything. Came back two hours later and it was gone.
Thanks for IDing it, always wondered what it was
funfact: OP, first reply, probably a few of the replies after that, and the person who took the screenshot are all the same person.
Still funny.
If you say so.
Because it honestly matters what a bunch of internet fags on a image board do, am I right? I think the "cancer", as you put it, are people like you who complain about everything, but that's just my opinion. I never go on any of those websites so I guess if I did I would probably be annoyed by it too
eh it was kinda funny
