Oh, I totally agree about the somewhat random measurement scales, but in this case at least, I suspect it is because a parsec is pretty fucking big in relation to a light day.

The red arrow is Voyager 1, the green arrow is Pioneer 10, the blue sphere is the termination shock (where the solar wind slows down due to hitting the interstellar medium), the rectangle in the center covers the Kuiper belt.

Those two little dots on the right side are the nearest stars, Alpha and Proxima Centauri, roughly 4 light years away. The inner sphere is a light year, the outer one is 10 light years. The bottom dot is Sirius, the left is BL Ceti.

A parsec is 3.26 light years, so it's a little closer than the Alpha Centauri dot, outside the 1 light year bubble.

Maybe a light day isn't such a bad measurement for objects as clustered as the Sag system is?
