The problem is they blended so many classes into some that some people are pissed they cant use their weapon on it anymore. Pugilist being a good example for daggers since it has monk weapons even though it's like a combo monk/thief/ninja. And even for other classes, maybe your preferred weapon type for that class isn't available right away - my friend confirmed for example that atm, the lowest level baghnakhs in LL were 18. Or at least that's the lowest he saw (Pugs started with a different wep I'm p. sure)
Specifically said by SE that Gladiator can use daggers, even says so in the official description of gladiator. Level Pugilist and Gladiator... equip pug abilities you like to gladiator... voila... dagger using class! It's almost like it's an incredibly versatile system like SE has been saying all along!
Fencers maybe get daggers for offhand.
When did fencers start dual wielding anyway >_>?
I am curious myself about that. I'm not saying it's impossible but seems very unlikely.
Kinda like Larsa in XII, he had a dagger in his off hand and a sword (rapier?) in his main hand. Closest thing I can come up with for an example.
Anyone played Dragon Warrior 7? I always liked the class system in that game, even if it took forever to finally get, but there was Mariner and Shepherd (and further Pirate and Tamer) in the game that were all somewhat useful in battles...
For example Mariner had FishNet which could be like a stun move, BirdEye (could work like a WideScan?), and Tsunami
Shepherd had moves like Antidote, Slumber, WoolGuard(fire/cold protection), and Stampede
Just some ideas on how they would integrate DoL into parties maybe
My guess for Fencer:
Off-hand gets its own action gauge. You will get "Slash" and "Parry" as off-hand actions: dealing slashing damage and parrying the next attack against you, respectively. It is likely they will get one or two weapon skills that may only be used after parrying, similar to some Pugilist weapon skills, which can only be used after dodging.
This class will be able to "tank" and "damage-deal" like the Pugilist - but his role will not depend on his stance, but rather the action of his off-hand.
