Real life is the hardest MMO to date
Whoops.
(oh man talk about derail) on the subject of raiding well...
It happened the same way in tbc, and probably before that when blizz started announcing the "expansion". Nothing new here really
also...! (even more derailment!)
The guild I'm in raids from 8pm est till 12 est sunday -> thursday (fri/sat off days)

make sure to read the application, not reading it and posting the wrong stuff = shotdown fast ;/
Nah, you probably need a 6300 GS and 9k unbuffed DPS to get into your shit.
nah, we've had people with alot lower join (hell we even ran some guy with like 3800 just to have at least 23 in raid for heroics)... if your decent at dodging stuff , follow directions, and have a decent app etc you'd get in at least as a trial.
You'd want to have at least killed LK before apping though and 8K raid dps (on fights you just sit 1 spot and mash buttons like blood queen mostly)
You talking 8k on 10mans or 25?
You will learn fast heroics arnt about dps or how much you can heal 9/10 the reason you wipe is because someone, or a group of people didnt move from a mechanic, sad really, but welcome to raiding where using WASD is hard!
yeah, i app'd to gulk's guild, pretty much don't app if you don't have much HM exp. i've got full clears on all wotlk content with a couple of HMs down and imo had a very good app. the only thing the raider warlock who replied could criticize was the fact that i barely had any hm exp, then tried to whine about my spec as if the different between his and mine isn't completely abysmal.
i haven't been denied yet(though probably will), and don't get me wrong, gulk's guild is definitely good, just may not be for people who don't have exp with at least 6-8 hms and very good gear.
Maybe Gulkeeva knows about all the account buying you do, and the time when you joined Arvin's guild and didn't even show up for your first raid and then caused hella drama in his guild.
While I haven't done Putricide/Sindragosa/LK 25 HM I just am not impressed by ICC HMs. It seems like more of a healer race than anything, generally as a mage I can just stand there and pew pew the whole fight or occasionally move (Hell don't even do that on Saurfang).
Maybe its just me remembering something better than it was, but Sarth 3D 10 man was by far the hardest/best hard mode I've ever done as far as keeping DPS, Tanks, and Healers very active and aware while still adding in the "If you fuck up you wipe the raid" idea.
I have not done half the Ulduar HMs so can't talk about those, and TOGC 10 was easier then Ulduar normal mode.
the "dps race" hardmode heroics are pretty much... putricide (soft enrage aka puddles flooding the room death) and LK (Getting a 3rd shambling horror = dps too slow/go wipe)
most the others are mainly "if you can survive it" type fights. Like the aoe explosions from the casters + debuff making that aoe buffet making you take even more damage on sindragosa heroic, the slimes on rot face "pulse" alot damage.. getting vile gas stuns + near a slime = death.
Most everything heroic will be a joke though by time we get 30%.. EXCEPT LK, the abilities he does... just makes the fight more so deadly ;/ (namely infest).
Finally survived to phase 2... (well where he does the ie aoe) didn't survive too long in that!![]()
Really the first 9 are damn easy (first 9 exculding prof sindy and lk) but there is still an aspect that 1 person really can wipe the whole attempt for you, and that is damn frustarting with have a shaman in our guild and im not sure how he even passed trial he no matter what stands in fire, wont move from ghosts forgets to bite people etc.
As someone that watches stupid people die to 10-man content over and over because the mechanics are too damn hard:
WASD is the hardest part of this game, if you can't move out/away from shit your DPS doesn't matter.
Hi2u standing in the raid with oozes because "My DMB didn't tell me I had the debuff"
Freya3, Yogg1, Vezax and FF were interesting hardmodes in Uld. And of course Algalon, which is the best fight so far this expansion.
A lot of hardmodes boil down to "don't fuck up this straightforward mechanic oh yes and in order to make the higher DPS check you either need everyone doing near maximum theoretical dps or drop down to 3 healers for 25 people", which is a crappy way to do a hardmode. Good hardmodes change the fight to a degree. Not a single HM ICC fight does that except LK which has that Harvest Soul / Frostmourne room stuff in phase 3; thats probably why I've been unimpressed with ICC since February. It's a good instance but not great like Ulduar was.
