Need new keyboard/mouse.. converting to PC FPS

So, i've always played shooters on consoles. I've finally decided to put my desktop to good use, and start playing some FPS on it.

I'm mainly going to be playing TF2, L4D2 and about to purchase BFBC:2.

I need some recommendations for a nice gaming mouse/keyboard. Everyone i've talked to in lately has said get a logitech g19 keyboard, but I cannot spend $200 on one.

What I would like, is a keyboard with some decent macros buttons....... and a mouse that is wireless.

    Thanks

You'll never use those macro keys in a FPS, just letting you know.

    For the mouse...
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder, wired is 10000000000000000000 times better. Razer uh... Mamba? or whatever the wired/wireless one is if you really insist on wireless.
Mousepad: Everglide Titan (cheap and huge)

Edit: Also to add, a "gaming" mouse and keyboard will not make you better unless you're going from a ballmouse to a optical/laser or something. If you're getting this stuff because you are going to try and be good then I support you, however, if you want it because it's shiny and everyone else has it I say save your money because it won't do anything. The average $20 mouse and keyboard is just fine for playing FPS non-competitively.

    Wireless mice...

You will notice that every mouse on the market that purports to be a "gaming" mouse is usually wired.

If you are really wanting to play FPS you should probably consider using a wired mouse simply for the responsiveness.

I've been using a Logitech MX518 for 3 years and love it. it has programmable buttons and on the fly sensitivity changing. Plus you can configure the setpoint software to change settings depending on the game that you are playing. I've never used a keyboard with macros for games only for generic office functions.

Really if you go to a big box retailer like Best Buy of Fry's they will have plenty of floor models that you can monkey around with.

You shouldn't need to spend more than $100-140 bucks for a decent mouse and KB combo.

What is special about that keyboard you linked ABS? It just looks like a really generic keyboard. Care to explain what this mechanical key thing is.

They have a better key response and are way more durable than the "rubber dome" ones.

Edit: Also just by looking at the competing mechanical keyboard prices on that page you'll see why $20 is pretty significant. The others run between about $50 and $200 (if you really -really- want to count it 1200)

The Razer Mamba is marketed as a gaming mouse, and is wireless as some have mentioned.

I have had said mouse for quite some time and have not been dissapointed.

Get either a G11, G15, G110, or Razer Lycosa or whatever other one of their keyboards.

Backlighting on a keyboard is just so aesthetically pleasing.

I see you picked up a MX518, great choice. My only other recommendations are a Logitech G500, Razer Deathadder, or Razer Mamba if you want to be wireless and spend more.

Yeah Mamba is wireless and a gaming mouse, it's basically the Deathadder just wireless, and can go wired on the fly. My ONLY complaint with this mouse is profile changing.

Some games you want certain mouse buttons to be different keypresses or macros compared to other games, and setting up profiles is great. However, when the mouse is wireless, switching profiles takes a while and is pretty annoying, but when wired it's really quick... but then whats the point in the mouse if its wired. Not to mention "detect new hardware" every time you unplug/plug it in. This however isn't a problem if you use one setup for all games. I just got the mouse a week ago and am debating returning it, I'm trying to prove whether or not I need the option to ever change sensitivity in FPS games...

I mean, do you really need to be able to change sensitivity on the fly when going from an AR to a Sniper? So far I've proven pretty similar K : D ratios when trying both 2000dpi and 4000dpi, I really can't stand going any lower... but then again I play on 2x 1920x1200 26"monitors.
