Twinks/twinking, a question!

So, I've been looking into starting to play around with a twink Sin or Ranger and I'm looking for opinions on which people think is better and why. Consider equal gear/equivalent skill, money not being an issue for gear, 4/5 Daeva set if it's useful, different situations, etc! Go~

Sin > ranger because of hide 2. ranger is a good twink but suffers from lack of hide (sorry, hide 1 doesn't cut it) and they r only good against high lvs for the initial burst... And high lvs can easily resist ur traps / snare arrow / silence / ect. Sin just has more versatility and, when things get rough, u can always scroll & flee

That's basically what I'd been thinking, Hide 2 makes a huge difference, but I was wondering if I'd had any over sights lol. Sums up what I've though/been told, open to more opinion's though!

I'm working on an assassin 32 at the moment (on your server too!) so if you wanna roam together, let me know.

This is my character so far, working on the last flash piece now (Chanter @26) and then building back some money so I can +10 everything and get more manastones. (Attack+4/Crit +13 only).

As far as not having hide 2 since I'm staying at 32...meh. Morheim is usually dead and it's just going to be for fun since I don't really enjoy tossing money away just to kill people. On top of the fact if I was 35 the flash set would be gimp instead of the gold elite 33 gear. Maybe I can just get to 35 if it sucks and work on Kromede/AP gear to replace flash and skip the elite gold 33 gear.

My computer can't do PVP at the moment anyways so I have about 2 weeks time to build up money to get everything set. Should be okay.

I'm more concerned over consumables. Obvious would be greater healing pots, highest serums (probably settling with a few AP and greater serums since major ele stones are way too expensive to be worth it), jelly, attack/crit food (undecided at the moment as to which), courage scrolls, mana potions, kisks, etc.

As for which job is better...I don't know, ranger is great for twinks with enough distance but if you're caught/opponent pots out of anything and makes it to you, you're probably going to die. Assassin can at least gtfo faster than most and go into hiding/shadow walk.

Think at 1.9 they're making something to see through Hide 2 so honestly it wouldn't really matter which you make. Personally once I finish my 4th job which is Glad, I'll be working on a Ranger Twink.

Twinks are really fun lol. Mine is a 31 Ranger and currently on my first piece of abyss gold armor (feet) and gathering mats for blue rings and earrings/neck. Since I only have a 37 cleric to farm some bosses for money, I'm not using too much consumables, only run scroll/critfood/dp food. Doesn't cost me too much, since the ap loss at rank 5 to 9 is insignificant, and you only stay rank 4 for a day or so for normal ap armor, it doesn't have a huge impact on the total ap acquired at the end of the day. I'm usually dying 3 to 6 times an hour, losing between 1 and 100 ap everytime.

As a ranger my gear is still slacking so you could be a lot stronger than me with the right funds. The lack of hide 2 is a setback, sure, but anything that would be able to kill you wouldn't make any ap from it. I feel that the initial burst of the ranger on anything pre-35 (your main targets) is still the best asset between the two. Only thing that is a pain to kill are full daevanion twinks, the winner usually being decided by who uses the most consumables. And hide 1 is still pretty awesome against unprepared high 40s and 50s who didn't stack up on seeds.

Sins are the most annoying to kill, all they do is hit flee and a 30% scroll and run until they can hide, so annoying.

At the moment I have no problem fighting Assassins of the same level of my chanter (1,200+ Evasion, 1,400+ Parry makes Assassins very easy to fight), but it's impossible to kill them if they don't want to be for certain classes, Spiritmasters have the easiest time, but they are a pain in the ass either way.

I had a Assassin try and jump me 4 times today and failed horribly everytime, and eventually he brought his level 46 Cleric friend to kill me cause he couldn't get the job done and I kept sending him home with his tail between his legs.

Lol today I killed a 35 glad in arkanis temple and he brought 2 45s and 1 50 to come kill me and the other ranger that grouped with me. I flied away, went into hide, used return then threw myself off the roof of eltnen. Poof, back in the desert and went to kill more people lol. I know return can only be used three times per hour, but goddamn is it useful sometime. Dying on mobs doesn't matter either, since you want to keep your twink at 31 or 32 for access to all rifts and little ap loss. Running and hiding is the most used way, but hide to return is pretty goddamn good too when cornered.

The setup I was thinking to start off with would be 3/5 Daeva pieces (Body/Shoulders/Legs) for the Crit bonus, Expert Noble boots/gloves/belt/hat, and Noble Topaz/Rose Quartz jewelry. For Ranger I have a Noble True Dragon's Bow +10'd, didn't really consider going back to Sin until today, so I dunno about weapons for it specifically, but I'm sure between Expert Sword/Dagger and a Balic version I could figure something out until Kromede's dagger's.

Now here`s a question for you... how do you guys twinking go about kromede`s? Do you get everything you want before hitting lvl 35 then spam FTs or spam FTs till whatever level you want yer twink to stay at then stop and get AP stuff or what? <.>

Could get to whatever level you want, spam ft, then before you ding just suicide a bunch and let your xp bar drop til you're empty and spam ft some more

And sin also gets the +run speed ability, so with 22% boots, run title, great running scroll, and sprinting up they can outrun higher levels (other than other sins). Even with the blue 18% boots they could outrun everyone but other sins.

I always find that there are too many highs around when i try and do stuff and therefore end up getting rolled so fast lol. i'm not too good at this pvp stuff yet but hey.

Watching Eltnen is a full time job now on Siel because the Asmos are such crap that they constantly have +20-25% damage debuff up and all they do is abuse it to use twinks to gank lowbies in Eltnen.

That assassin I Would destroy ... the ranger on the other hand .. yeah I couldnt get close to him. Exact same build as a asmo named Zot on our server and I couldnt touch him .. kited me

You really can't go wrong with Assassin or Ranger though, they both have really good oh shit buttons to get away. Assassins have Sprinting, and a Ranger will just Sleep Arrow you, drop a Spike trap in the direction he's running and book it. When I finish using my Flash set on my Chanter I'll probably put it on my Ranger and twink her for screwing around.

What's annoying is that Morheim is either completely empty or camped by higher levels. On the elyos side there never seems to be any high level coming to help the noobs, while asmos have it the opposite way.

I dont mind helping the lowbies with the twinks that attack them, cause lets face it .. most of the twinks on the asmo side on azphel just aren't that good now since zot left. The problem is 1) some of the elyos have made pacts with the asmos and 2) the asmos bought another account JUST to make a elyos to heckle the few that do kill the twinks. Seems like every time I kill one I see spammed in 1/3 chat "Ha ha Daunte and his friends took 5 minutes to kill me blah blah blah"
