Superior sequels

Wow, I know "sequels are horrible" is pretty bandwagon half the time and the other half, rightfully said, but in my experience, I've found sequels to be in the proximity of the first movie.

But for the first time, I watched a sequel (direct to dvd btw), that fucking absolutely murdered the first movie in every way.

To anyone who has seen Undisputed, I highly recommend you see Undisputed 2.



Does anyone else have any sequels they found superior to the first movie?

Short Circuit II may fall into this category as well.

Spider Man 2, the best movie of the series by far. Same goes for Empire Strikes Back, although to a lesser degree. Also, a decent number of the Star Trek sequels were better than the first.

Back to the Future 2 was good but it's not as good as 1, although it is the one I've seen the least. The trilogy is really all one huge movie anyway, I don't think of them as three separate films.
