Sorry, been stuck at work with a high profile issue and I just got news that my girlfriend's father passed away, so I've been dealing with that.

so then, if someone makes a post and a mod comes along and edits the content to make it more suitable instead of deleting it, is that bad? because it seems that's been done recently, at least once by qalbert. i'm not sure what may have happened with domon's posts that he had to bring to spam.

Yes and no. There's certain things that are not allowed to be posted. Ex. if someone decided to create a whole drama scenario and dump your contact information, street address, etc by proxy, then that gets edited out quick. The whole incident surrounding iifuzz/wizshit is another example. If it's something that's seriously going to cause trouble, ie. when SE's Customer Service guidelines and handbook was posted, then it's going to get trashed.

Usually the guideline was if the post can stand on its own in some context after the butchery, then it most likely will stay. Otherwise to the Graveyard it goes.

I'd have to see the context in order to give a firm judgment. There's usually gray area involved.

Rip the post to the Graveyard and take it to PMs unless the person infracted is being an obnoxious twunt. Trying to publicly shame a mod somewhere that isn't Spam is just under betting against a Sicilian when death is on the line. If the Mod can't explain coherently, elevate it to an Admin.
