Wow that's very nice( have u considered working with SE lol)
Btw anyone knows how many times u have to trade npcs to get them influenced ?
For example dusk raven needs to trade him 500 gil i tried doing this 10 times and he didnt come with windy =/ and every time i try to trade rongo nango there's no response and he tells me his father told him to not speak with windurstians ; ;
If 5000 gil was all it took to get a freelance onto your side, he'd be switching sides about 50 times a day.
Makes sense, story-wise, since Rongo-Nango's ancestor Lungo-Nango basically got exiled from Windurst for no reason except that they didn't like him anymore.
Yeah, this is exactly why I'd like more, because there's already existing quests which are basically "fluff", yet are really fun (Babban being a wonderful example). Some of the AF quests are really good, and tie in to the WotG ones anyway (such as rng AF), and I'd really like some CS-based quests just to fill in some of the blanks or build upon what already exists with regards to the story. After all, WotG has some of the best story and CS in the game, and more can only be a good thing imo.
I'm sure they'll eventually add more Campaign weapons with WSes attached.
They're not done with Campaign yet. They just wanted to give everyone a chance to try these new WSes so they slapped all jobs in these 3.
I just hope that Doom AoE WS becomes available lol (yeah, sure ;.
Would be nice for clearing a few NMs.
I'm also guessing more weapons were what they were talking about for new campaign items next update.
I guess I'm averaging about the same without SA on Glory Slash, 450-900 with wide variations (probably due to the huge varience of debuffs on campaign mobs). I'd still like to see some more numbers on Uriel Blade if anyone's got them, the post in the other thread did seem to point solidly to STR MND MAB all as modifiers but it looks like at least some people are interested in nailing it down. Since the WS's can only be used in Campaign, it's hard to get a handle on these unless you have a mob to yourself so you know exactly what buffs/debuffs it has on. That's getting really hard to do lately if you're on one of the servers who merged.
On a side note, the Stun effect on Glory Slash seems pretty potent.. I haven't seen anything posted but do "In Campaign" items function in campaign ops BCNMs? Or the Allied Note BCNMs? Might be interesting just for that if you already use a weapon that outdoes the campaign WS's.
Thanks for all the responses.
I dabbled with UB and GS with my RDM, and really, UB felt like the winner (At least for RDM). As noted, the big damage GS came from THF mains with SA, and while RDMs don't really get awesome WS sets like other jobs, the fact it's a physical WS also hurts its potency when you consider a lot of Campaign mobs have self-def buff moves.
Now, UB can't go as high as GS, but it's generally more consistent. Campaign mobs seem to have a flat reduction on magic damage overall, but as a decently geared RDM I've been able to churn out around 600 damage consistently. PLD, WHM, or RDM mobs would present additional reductions through Shell or native MDB, but now and then you'd also see partial resists of the magic damage usual to magic damage formula. Damage goes up as your TP does, but that shouldn't be all that surprising. I like to go RDM/PLD for Campaign now and try to take 2-4 mobs at once (can do more if MNK types). Between Shield Mastery TP, base TP from low damage received, and simply swinging, the Flash effect is usually handy when you find yourself at a point where you do need to cure with multiple mobs on you. Auto Refresh and the Refresh neck help with longevity, too. However, I do have trouble when people unable to steal hate start whacking on the myriad mobs I've gathered and they proceed to stunlock me with Head Butt, Feather Storm, or Slam Dunk spam. Unsurprisingly, if I die, most of the leeches bite it because multiple mobs eat through them quickly.
Main thing that's kept me from messing with GS more was, since it's depressing for RDM, were I to try it on WAR with all the fancy +STR and such I have for WS, I'd be dead seconds after. THFs could last a little longer with Evasion builds, but personal experience usually had me having trouble evasion/blink tanking Campaign mobs once I got above 3. Using SA also becomes more difficult if you're the primary hate holder in order to consistently put out the big damage.
Short version, RDMs and BLUs should probably be using UB (and best with Morrigan's if you have access to it). No real reason not to given MAB they should have laying around for various job purposes. Bit iffy on PLDs, but they can certainly get some solid WS builds for +STR and might have things like Novio/Moldy if they've also got BLM or something on the side. For the jobs on Lex... if you can't get a solid physical WS set, it'd probably be in your best interest to stick to pre-existing single-mob WS for the sake of survivability or practicality (DRGs and DRKs should stick to their spear/scythe/gs for example).
Gonna bold something I hinted on earlier, but I really want people to take it to heart: If you come upon someone tanking multiple mobs and using these WS, ASSIST them on their primary target only. If you can Sleepga, cool. If you wanna use Torpor after I UB, that's fine, too. Wanna MPK me by initiating TP spam? Not so cool. Can usually handle one mob using a WS one after another. After all, I still have normal Flash if I'm desperate. In turn, I'm far more inclined to try and tank NMs than I was running around SAM/DNC. Though, I can still use some cure help here.
Btw dont be dumb and dont waste your AN in tartarus torpor really is soooo useless....
And thank you for the tip i will try 50 times to see how many influence i got over the npcs
Someone said rongo nango can be allied to windurst... dunno how but there's even info of where he appears when allied with windy
Regardless of how good any of the weapons are, Valaineral R Davilles became my hero after I saw him tank 2 armies of orcs at the same time and made them both retreat. Therefore I must strive to be like him and Uriel Blade the shit out of everything.
You need to help bastok more. Maximillian is a one man meat grinder. 3k vorpal blades, perma-hundred fists, and his 2r is MS + PD. guy is fucking nuts. makes me smile every time. Can i have what he's using?
to add to arus's post: take the fucking kclub off. nothing pisses me off more than a fucking taru thf or some disphit rdm without enspells on kclubbing something for 2 and 3s, causing me to bite it from the tp spam when i'm tanking. fucking morons.
lol I go whm/nin for some hexa strike/mystic booning action with brise-os/kc but seeing as how you didn't list WHM in your list hoping you don't mind XD Considering I really only fight quads and I tend to get hate in smaller groups (larger groups they get their tp up fast anyway) it is prolly more balanced... if for some reason there is a good tank in a smaller group and he sustains hate I'll cure him since mp isn't usually a problem
I will admit though, that using KC on those shadowing-like mobs in icelands is pretty f'ed up after I tried it lol... often having to use mystic boon more often and curing myself before I can consider others >< I try to avoid fighting those when possible
well if the person wants to tank it thats fine, but when i tank it's on sam/dnc and third eye is finite. even a quad's headbutt/shell bash adds up over time. a mage wants to compensate by throwing a cure or two my way, thats another story, but some tard just kclubbing watching me die pisses me off to no end.
"to add to arus's post: take the fucking kclub off. nothing pisses me off more than a fucking taru thf or some disphit rdm without enspells on kclubbing something for 2 and 3s, causing me to bite it from the tp spam when i'm tanking. fucking morons. "

or a lv 69 bst insisting he's capping exp for misses.. KC should be a no no unless you're soloing a mob. I find that /shout Kraken club, no thanks, works about half the time, (of course the other half the time just results in "You're not the boss of me, I'm an idiot and proud of it!" For those people nothing else matters except their own enjoyment and unlike other events you can't pick and choose who to campaign with.. but you can fail to see them when they need to be raised until the battle's over.
The White mage that posted above is probably one of those rare exceptions, it's really not fair to tell them not to use it say on Quads or Orcs and it's not their fault everyone sees a white mage tanking and tries to pull it off them.. I feel for you, you just want to be left alone to beat the hell out of it on your own.
No responses on whether or not "in campaign" items work in campaign ops bcnms or allied note BCNMs? Anyone?
I already have the Lex Talonis but at this point I'm considering it a waste of points unless I could find a niche for it like that, my main dilemnas were whether to get that for my mule (he'd use it on bard but then you're talking lower sword skill vs dagger and only a small return on WS damage over Evisceration) and whether or not to bother with Urial Blade on RDM since I seem to cap alot faster on RDM/RNG single wielding joyeuse and spamming sidewinder. Shadows aren't really an issue unless they move the moogle to right near the C.A. and I could have enough time to change to /nin for northlands battles, where they're a little more handy. Even then RDM/BLU is still better overall for survivability but probably the lowest on DPS and DOT. Sadly the way campaign is setup by the time you change jobs the battle's over most of the time. Even going all out on /nin I find it harder to hold hate then on /rng, less self cures, less DPS dual wielding just to gain a weapon skill, etc, etc.
RDM/RNG can be pretty potent (with a good build and a failnaught) and not often talked about. I use it for Campaign, Nyzul, Limbus, and some other low man events and I find it very balanced for party support and pure damage. It'll be interesting to see if velocity shot and shadowbind will be available with ranger as a subjob.
I'm not even really bitching about people using a KC on one mob I'm fighting, but more the combined TP moves of 3+ wailing on me at once because they're doing too little no matter their equipment to actually get hate. Maybe now and then I'll see a DRK or WAR pull hate, but it's usually after they pop all of their abilities and WS. I figure the basic hate hold I have on a small pack isn't very high aside from the one I'm engaged to, but UB and Cures (Don't swap to +enmity here, no fucking room. D: ) are usually enough to keep attention over inferior DoT even if the mobs might be hitting me for 30-50 apiece non-crit.
Assisting with the topic derail, if I could slap a certain campaign jackass, it would be the people who start fighting my solo mob and do everything they can to pull hate off of me when there's a couple dozen more enemies pounding on the Fortification behind them.
I'd actually slap the exact opposite: the guy off in the sticks soloing the last of the mobs who gets pissy when I join in/get hate, and then proceeds to act like there are still mobs at the forts I could be killing rather than "his" mob(s).
