No invite here..
There's some dustup over @ lolCore that this is actually the invite to Alpha 2, not Beta. I guess they didn't read the email then.
My email specifically says Beta in the title.
Got an email today as well, may 28.
Yes, it says Beta in the email however, on the email it is written:
Applicants selected as testers will be eligible to participate with the beginning of the second stage of the Alpha Test.
However, we cannot log into the website for now:
https://dev-na.ffxiv.com/
Further on, the email says:
The official testers’ site will become available for login on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.
So I am guessing whoever got picked during the May 28th batch should be able to log into the website and download the client version during June 2nd.
I suspect existing testers will not be de-selected for future rounds (though you never know!).
So the wording of "starting with the second alpha" could well be accurate, as the people selected will be beta testers, but are being included in the testing group as of the second alpha.
(At least, that's what I understood my email to mean)
So it appears some people who got yesterday's e-mail can login fine and download the client, but others (such as myself) cannot login yet. Hope that gets cleared up, but I am not holding my breath.
Or it's just like the e-mail says; you can access the website after June 2nd.
Some can access the site already, and the e-mail supposedly says this.
It is probably SE slowly increasing the amount of players, and sending week's worth of invites at time (speculation anyway). I wouldn't be worried.
The question I would ask is what date it says the testing forum will be open in the email you received, since it isn't the same for everyone.
Well, the e-mail I received certainly makes no mention that some people will have access earlier than others. It does, however, say June 2nd, so I won't officially worry until that point. The part that worries me is the people posting in here (and other boards) that can already login and download the client, supposedly receiving the same June 2nd message as well.
Not really a big deal, but I'm certainly curious to see what happens.
I fall under your category, so I might as well post my information so hopefully we can get an idea of how many people are experiencing this.
At 3:00AM on the 28th I received an Invitation for the June 2nd NA beta.
My Beta application and account both have my linked POL/FFXI ID which has been active since 2004.
There is no indication of FFXIV Beta access in my Square Enix Account services listing.
I cannot login to the dev-na site and receive the "Not registered" error.
My email said the 28th and I could access the site on the 28th (and download the client).
lol.. they're sending emails out informing test dates now..
subtle way of telling people 'hello! come back to test the alpha like u signed up for?'
