I just got an email from square, or what I think is square, saying I was selected to be a beta tester. Unlike everyone else, my email said the website wouldn't be available until June 9th.

I got it too, starting June 9th. Nice, right before finals week, FML! =/

I personally changed my application once last month, and I received an invite just over a week ago. I'm also Canadian (I thought this would invalidate myself as well, but apparently not!)

Thats so good to here, cause i changed my application as well, since I upgraded my video card. At least now i know it didnt disqualify me.

I don't understand the last question on the application. The one that only gives choices that say you own a game fan site of some kind. Any one know if it is a mistake or has no bearing on the application process?

That happened with me too. I just used the box to tell them that I didn't have a fansite, and I used the opportunity to remind them that my 9600 GT was actually a 9600M GT (I don't think they really thought the application through). Did anyone else run into this problem and perhaps find a better solution?

As I filled out the application and read that question I thought to myself, "It SE really THAT full of themselves?" haha.

I think it's a mistake honestly, and doubt it has any effect on being selected.

Yea, it's a mistake. What is weird is that I remember them changing it some time ago... maybe it depends on the region or w/e ^^; They even pointed that out themselves.

My husband got into the beta the other day (in Canada too!). He didn't get a "Congratulations you've been chosen for the beta" email however. He just had an email from Final Fantasy XIV that said something about "Alpha Test" in the subject line. The body just talked about the dates of the next test. He almost passed it by as spam email when I told him to try to log onto the beta site/forums just to make sure. We were both surprised when it worked. He was able to play last night. The game sure looks snazzy for an alpha.
