The problem is that I have to delete the folder and start all over or it'll just say I have a download error and close 10 seconds after I start it.
It seems that if I don't get it all at once, I'm not getting it at all.
On a side note, whoa, Baltimore. Like 40 minutes away.
I was getting 2.0 MB/s with the downloader :\
finished updating in <10mins
the first time I opened it, it was running the CPU at 100% on all cores. I re-opened it in XP compatibility mode and worked from there.
Anyone know a way to limit the upload? I already uploaded 5gb and only at 15% download.. At this rate, I'm going to spend my montly bandwidth on this download.
You could try netlimiter, it should allow you to set a limit on your upload or download. You would need either the lite or pro version, both of which have a 28-day evaluation period. If you needed it longer than that i bet you would be able to find a way to make that happen
Any way to use utorrent to download the files? As i'm u/l max and downloading 0 right now...
1. Make sure the right port numbers are entered.
2. Make sure the right protocol (UDP or TCP)
3a. Open a cmd window and type ipconfig/all
3b. Look at the address labeled IPv4.
3c. Makes sure that is the address the ports are being forwarded to.
Step 3 is the most important. I realized I had been forwarding my port to the wrong address for a while (it ended in 100 instead of 101). Fixed that shit and my speed on client and utorrent like quintupled. I went from 24hrs+ download to like 3-4 hours.
Edit: Also, someone said to change UPnP to "Use" instead of "Auto," but that actually stopped my download in its tracks. I suggest leaving it on auto.
List of ports to forward (Forum Copypasta): CP/UDP Port Numbers
The FINAL FANTASY XIV Alpha Version may use one of the following port numbers listed below. If you are using a router, you may have to adjust your router’s settings to allow packet transfer through these ports.
UDP 55296 – 55551
TCP 54992 – 55551
TCP 80, 443 (Notice that these are two, single port. Not 80-443)
Sigh, I got an email from Square and got so excited that it was my FFXIV alpha/beta invite, but...it was just a Deus Ex E3 announcement.![]()
13001 the lobby server connection has encountered an error? I assume it's down, or I'm doing something wrong
Is 2010.05.21.0000 still the most recent version?

Its only up during the times listed until SE expands the testing window
I know testing doesn't start until the 9th, but does anyone else that's scheduled for then get this message when they try logging in now?
" You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account."
I know some people get taken to the account management screen, so I'm a little worried tbh.
