Yeah, it seems you're fucked. SE said they mistakingly sent few invites that wouldn't become active until the last few days of the Open Beta, sadly looks like you're one of them.

I assumed the server would be up for more than 12 hours a weeks (assuming you can even log at that time). That's not a lot of time to get any serious feedback in a mmo. Beside, the wording wasnt "alpha testing time", it was "10th test", which make it sound like a specific testing events, and not server uptime.
Anyway, I simply asked the question to make sure it wasn't some blocked port or common error that was preventing me from logging on.
12 hours x 5-15,000 testers is plenty of time.
Except it's a feedback test. The playerbase doesn't share some sort of hive mind that allow them to cumulate everyone's experience together.
If they want a very first impression, fine, but it's still not a lot to make any decent judgements. That's like reviewing ffxi or WoW after playing the game 10 hours...kinda laughable.
The amount of content in the alpha is tiny. 12 hours a week is HEAPS of time.
You forget that they are up to week 10. If you played every session you would have over 60hours of playtime so far. I've leveled every combat job to around 10, 2 of them to 20. I've explored most of the landmass available to us, talked to every NPC I can find, spent more than 10 hours testing the crafting and gathering.
I've given every bit of feedback I can think of. More time to test would = people being bored. There really isn't much to test yet.
12 hours a week is more than enough time. SE had almost 50,000 items of feedback after only a few weeks. By now, I'm sure they have 100-200 thousand items of feedback.
Nothing has changed since week 1 content or mechanic wise. More time isn't even remotely needed until beta.
Fully downloaded when i woke up this morning. Happy ill be able to test by later.
Just curious to make sure im not blocked or anything. But can you not login to the game until the servers become active later today? I presumed so but i didnt want to leave it until later to find i was blocked somewhere.
When i try login to the game it just says
13001 The lobby server connection has encountered an error
Error code: 0
status 0
TIMEOUT
I presume its because the servers down? Or can you login into a POL always just not effectily hit a 'Play' button like during maint? Sorry just havnt done this sorta thing before
Are you by any chance using Windows XP or newer as your operating system? And have an ATI Radeon or GeForce graphics card?
If so, you might be in trouble. SE has said they have severe problems with the combination above so you might not get to play before the game is optimized (few months max, no worries).
If you say so, but to someone who just got in, their wording is everything but clear. People are acting like it's obvious information when it's not. I browsed most of the tester website to find out what I was looking for and didn't see anything outside the vague mention of the "10th test" and it's date. Hell, I didn't even know they were always testing the same items from weeks to weeks.
Yep, can only log in during "testing phase", which were posted earlier on this page.Originally Posted by oreth
Because I can't log in to test the game? Because there is no clear indication on the tester website? I don't need to know this indeed, all I need is a clear explanation, which they didn't give me.
To extrapolate it from their post, you need more informations. That's why I was asking this rethorical questions.
Do I have to have linked a Playonline account to my Square-Enix account?
Or is anyone participating that for sure haven't linked their Square-Enix account to a Playonline ID?
....Fucking what.
uh, I mean what is this about? What's the problem again?
EU starts in like 5 hours, NA starts in 15 hours. As long as you get through the version check to the title sceen there shouldn't be a problem.
/10charsThe following two new Worlds were introduced today:
Emperor
Golbez
Uh-oh, getting closer to Sephiroth!
I didnt link mine and was answering negatively to most questions. Everyone can get in.
They don't. It's not clear when you can log in if you're not up to date with their testing methods. That's why the question was asked multiples time. You have to guess that the "test" is the only time you will be able to log during a week.
If you have been reading BG FFXIV section, you probably know this already and it doesnt cause any issue, but if you don't, it'd not the official website that will help you.
