Did you look near the top? 1920x1080 is the second option in the list or something like that or me. Also try changing the display option (not the buffering, the other one) if that doesn't help.

Go into windows resolution options and make the monitor the defualt, if that don't work turn off the output to the samsung TV.

Edit :- scratch that the first 2 options under window size should be 720p and 1080p.

In attempt to save time d/ling the update on multiple computers, I used a flash drive and copied/pasted all the folders over planning on just hitting update > waiting a few minutes and being done (as this worked on FFXI). Now I'm getting a 11000 error, but the only help I can find to fix it involve Alpha. Any suggestions here, or should I just go with the utorrent method?

If its not too late, go into the folder in My documents and copy the files you DLed from there.

Copy them over to the new PC and run FFXIV, it should check and install all the files.

That's essentially what I did in two steps. I copied 2.8 gig on to my flash drive and dumped it into the beta folder, then copied the other 3.5g and did the same. When I try to boot the launcher it gives me the 11000 error. When I close that error it has 3 Kanji characters behind it, so I'm not sure what I did wrong (the last part is more humorous than anything else as I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fail).

If you have updated the client on one of your PCs... Open the FFXIV beta folder, copy these 2 folders on your flashdrive..
    http://i.imagehost.org/0966/Untitled_14.jpg
Then move and replace to the same folders on the other pcs... That is what I did on my 3 PCs and it works fine. Hope that helps...

Worked perfect thank you both. I didn't realize that there was a My Games folder in My Docs which contained that info <_<.

    Lots of people are.

SE needs to tweak their patcher. Downloading it via a normal torrent program works fine, so its something in their client that's borked.

    To what? The torrent?

If you read back through the last couple of pages in this thread people have posted where to find the torrent file etc.

Took me 27hrs to download the Beta Client on my shitty wireless internet. Apparently I got lucky though, since others were complaining of erroring out nonstop.

I've not had anywhere near as many problemd downloading this as downloading the alpha. That's factoring in the fact we've got an ISP with hideous download caps/speed throttle policy as well and the fact we've had to download it twice in this house as there's two of us in Beta. Just left it on overnight a couple of evenings and it's been done no problems, unlike the alpha which took day after day after day to download.

Currently at 83.2%... Left it on for 2 days now, gawd. I tried opening ports on my router (not sure if that actually worked) and I still have 0 remote connections.. crappy D:

New post on the beta site about system requirements. Perhaps interesting to some.

    Windows® 7 32-bit / 64-bit *2
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz)
    AMD Athlon X2 (2.0 GHz)
    RAM Windows XP: 1.5 GB
    Windows Vista / Windows 7: 2 GB
Hard Disk Space Installing: 15 GB

Radeon™ HD 2900 or higher VRAM 512 MB
    Sound DirectSound® compatible (DirectX® 9.0)
    Internet Connection Broadband (constant connection)

    DirectX DirectX 9.0c

*1 Windows XP users should install, run, and update the game using administrator settings.
*2 When using a 64-bit OS, the game will run on WoW64 (Windows on Windows 64).
*3 The amount of free space required on the drive containing your My Documents folder has been temporarily changed to reflect an increase in additional data not covered by the beta test installer.

    Please Note:
    - The aforementioned requirements are preliminary guidelines based on Square Enix internal testing. There is a chance that PCs which meet the specified requirements may not be able to run the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version.
    - Square Enix will not be responsible for reimbursing testers for any PC equipment or peripherals purchased in order to meet the aforementioned requirements.
    - For details on the aforementioned hardware/software, please visit the manufacturers’ websites.
    - System requirements may change for forthcoming beta tests and/or the final release version.

    TCP/UDP Ports
The FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version may use one of the following ports listed below. If you are using a router, you may have to adjust your router’s settings to allow packet transfer through these ports.

    UDP 55296 – 55551
    TCP 54992 – 55551
    UDP 80, 443

    P2P & UPnP
One of the methods used to distribute FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version updates is via a peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing system. In the event of an update, the version update program will look to see if your PC’s UPnP settings are enabled. If they are, the program will automatically open a port and connect your PC with other testers’ PCs also downloading the version update, accelerating the download process.

    Please Note:
    - The version update program’s P2P functionality only allows for the uploading/downloading of beta version updates. No other data will be transferred.
    - The version update program will not work in tandem with any other third-party P2P software.
    - Players using PCs or network peripherals that do not have UPnP capabilities can download the version update via the standard version update servers or directly from another tester’s PC.
    - If you do not wish to allow the automatic opening of ports via UPnP, please disable UPnP in your router or OS settings. If your PC is using a global IP address or you have set up a static port on your router, you will not need to adjust your UPnP settings.
    - While UPnP availability may differ depending on PC or network peripheral settings, the availability of P2P file-sharing does not. Rather, it may differ as a result of the individual policies of various Internet Service Providers.

In future it might be easier to copy the patch file from one PC to the other.

Installing the patch removes the downloaded file. This would only work if you used a torrent, or you were watching as the download finished and stopped it before it installs.

It took me just over 2 hours to fully patch with the stock patcher, whilst running it simultaneously on two computers on the same network at the same time. My PC had upwards of 60 remote/local connections individually. Lay the blame where it belongs if you don't know how to P2P... your torrent program probably just already had the correct ports open by default.

The problem with the patcher is that it doesn't do anything to limit your uploads. There are plenty of places in the world that don't have unlimited internet. If I use the official patcher, I upload at about 100k-150bs and download at about 10-15kbs.

If I use a proper torrent client, I download at 100, and upload at 50.

Sure, I could install software to force the patcher not to use my total bandwidth uploading, but if I going to have to use 3rd party software, I'm just going to do it the easy way.
