I could maybe somehow understand the excitement if you got in, but you didn't get in and need to share that with us? Really?

Wasn't active when I applied, but was active when I got the invite. I'm not too sure if SE read the specs etc as I didn't believe my laptop would be good enough to play the game.

Depends on how they optimize it..but you'll have trouble with the Alpha for sure. Especially with how touchy Nvidias are.

In the latest interview they said the most recent invites were selected by random drawing...whether or not they first eliminated those with subpar specs, or those without an active account, I guess we don't know - but it was definitely a random selection.

I'm incredibly bitter toward SE right now. Same boat, ffxi player since ps2 beta and have had them linked since you could but no invite. Apparently about ~450 peeps were added

That's the number that is floating around on the official board, someone was bored enough to check registration dates of the latest person of the latest wave, and the latest person of the current wave.

I asked a few posts up, I got 2 PMs, both of which are still active FFXI players, and I think 2 people posted saying they were. Yeah I know 4 out of 450ish, but no one has said they are not active and received an invite. Anyone?

What would be a recommended screenshot and video software? Any specific file type that should be used for videos?

I played FFXI for a year (US launch until December 2004). I tied my POL ID to my SE account when the beta was announced. I also activated FFXI for a month when the FFXIV beta started, but it's already canceled. And I got into this round of alpha testing. So it's not all loyal fans.

NK: It did at first, but now we announce the test times pretty close to when we start the test, so now there are actually a few less than we’d like.

Think they just added a few more people, and this is not the alpha2/beta invites?

HT: We’ll add them when alpha 2 starts, which is pretty soon. We already have the players chosen.
