There should be more invites, they just sending them out in waves. And only 450 NA's were added

Wouldn't those 450 be EU players (or JP, depending on when they can join)? Thought NA has to wait until Wednesday to register.

More relevant question: Does anyone who a) has a SE account apped to beta and b) DOESN'T have FFXI tied to their SE account... actually read BG? I mean, it seems like this is akin to asking a forum specifically for Texan lawyers if any Canadian bus drivers have passed the bar exam.

Edit: I remembered I did re-apply after I bought FFXIII (using the in-game item bonus key) and it actually let me use the same account info so maybe that played a factor.

i have not received any e-mail from square-enix since i think january, none of the newsletters even tho i am signed up

i have a yahoo account, and was wondering if anyone else who uses yahoo is actually getting emails from SE ?

i checked my SE account and it appears i did not get into beta anyway, just wondering if SE is sending stuff out to yahoo accounts at all

I have not played XI for about a year and got my invite today.

I reapplied with my bonus key and haven't gotten in yet. But thanks, I was really worried that anybody that submitted a second app was going to get declined just for that. But now I know that's not the case :D

Probably the lighting. There's nothing to really lend itself to there being depth at distance. I get the same vibe looking at pics indoors...that universal lighting throws it off for me. There's no specularity at all.
The beta preview pics look like they will beef up the visual framework and add a lot of life to the environment.

Yeah, its probably the lightening. I actually get the same feeling when I first log onto WoW, now that I think about it, when all the lights are bright before I use my custom console shaders to realistically darken things.

Personally I'm only here for XIV....I used to be big into XI, hence how I knew about BG, but I don't have an active FFXI POL ID. Really I re-registered here because this is the only forum I know that wouldn't be obnoxious about the NDA.

The way I see it, is that new wave are most likely headed to a new server, especially considering the "you can't play until June 2nd", so I won't be surprised to see more invites go out between now and then.

Although it did say in the latest interview that they have seen a lot less testers signing on, so maybe they are just trying to bolster active testers.

I played FFXI for a couple years, but quit in Feb 2009. Just because people don't play XI any more doesn't mean they aren't aware of the existence of these forums... I've been following BG for years, but only registered in the fateful April 2010 group of "fools".

So, to answer your question: yes.

I was forced out of FFXI due to the 3D secure thing in Sept. and didn't feel like working around it. I got in the alpha through Alla's thing.

However, FFXI was tied to the master account thing and I never deleted my character, so I'm still technically a FFXI player.

So in the light of the new inbound alpha testers, I'm sure there are a few people out there wondering the same thing I am.

What would be a recommended screenshot and video software? Any specific file type that should be used for videos?

Just be careful. It is easy to miss something that could point your video or screenshot into showing who you are. Lots of people use Fraps or similar applications to take screenshots or record video. There are similar applications out there as well.

Weird, mine doesn't have the Reporting Bugs Section part in it.

Mine says:

I asked a few posts up, I got 2 PMs, both of which are still active FFXI players, and I think 2 people posted saying they were. Yeah I know 4 out of 450ish, but no one has said they are not active and received an invite. Anyone?

When I filled out the beta application when you were first able to I was not active, and there was a question in there regarding if you were active at the time and why you stopped playing.

However, about a month or so after that I started playing again and have been since.
