I've got a question about the new round of beta. I go to log in with my SE account and password, the first time I did it, I received a message about maintenance on the website. Now if I try to log in, it says i am using an invalid account. Is something up with this, or do I need to create a new account from my existing one?

It will be on your existing account. Log into your account management and make sure the beta is registered under your account.

Oddly enough, I canceled my account on Wednesday and got an invite this morning at 5AM EST, haha.

Seems there are several people who received the email and CAN look under their SE account and register for alpha/beta.

And it seems several people who received the email and CAN NOT look under their SE account and register...

And it seems that their is two different dates, 29th and the 2nd...

I would assume the people with the 29th date can register now, but the people with the 2nd date can not?

The new people are likely getting errors because its not enabled for them yet.

Then what does this mean?

You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account.

Its a standard error message. Its because the account isn't enabled for forum access yet so it thinks you need to register. Give it a day or two.

SE seems to be switching peoples access on slowly, or maybe the system is just slow to update between SE account management and the test forums.

Some of the May 29th people have been able to log in and post in the EU forums, maybe its the NA ones thats have to wait a few days?

When I first got my email at 2am last night I tried logging in for about 45 minutes and had no luck. The Beta was not yet listed under services either.

I got up this morning and was able to login to the Beta site AND it was listed under the registered services. People who have emails just need to be patient. Be prepared to spend hours and hours downloading updates anyhow.

I just read this on ffxivcore:

"According to FF14-Fan, Twitter has been abuzz (atweet?) with reports of receiving invites for the second phase of the alpha since 4:20 PM Japanese time. Some tweets have stated that PS3 invites have gone out, as well."

Yeah I'm one of the June 2nd people and I looked under my 'Confirm Membership Status' and it doesn't say anything about FF14 beta yet. Still getting errors trying to log-in.

To the person who asked, no I didn't have an active FFXI account when I applied or got the e-mail. I don't even have an FFXI account attached to this SE account.

Based on what Igapo says here it sounds like you have to wait until it appears under the registered services before you are able to log in the the test site, so probably pointless to try logging in if you don't see that.

I got email on the 28th, I've stopped playing FFXI for half a year (although my char is still active as someone's mule). Email said I'm in as Beta tester and that I could start testing the second stage of the Alpha test.
