So we know ~450 testers were added in the latest round, does anyone have an idea of how many testers they've let in in total now? Trying to get a sense of much they're scaling up...
~2500 per region.
They could potentially quadruple that before starting to add more servers..
Oh damn so that really wasn't a lot of people at all. Hopefully they'll send some more invites out during this phase.
I think they're starting light, just making sure the current server can handle up to 2,500 players before really moving on.
Thanks to the locked thread below I just checked my mail and lo and behold there is an invite.

Has anyone on the feedback forum posted anything regarding camera distance? It would be nice if they lengthened the zoom back like 30% more than the max currently for those of us that can't play with the camera close up. >.> Was also surprised to see they have not yet implemented shift+arrows to move the camera while a menu is up as in xi. Very interested in seeing the 'new' battle system. I, too, don't think it will vary as much as they lead us to believe, and I don't have a problem with the current system. It was definitely a lot faster paced when playing vs. watching. Also, it seems it will let you queue your next ability before the ATB is charged, if you are going for attack spam rather than charging the effect guage.
Am thinkin the EU invite one...?
Page Down Key zooms you out to a goodly distance already, almost a little further than xi was. I don't think many people want to have a Diabolo II distance lol
My sentiments are the same with the battle system atm. I'm loving it and HOPE it doesn't change. The BR system obviously needs work but that was to be expected.
I also used page down, but it wasn't quite as far as XI. I also noticed it randomly resetting back to the home position, seemingly after anytime the camera moved closer (like when you run back towards the camera).
So This upcoming test (June 1) will be with new testers across the new servers? I look forward to hearing the results...
I think that is, actually, the one after this!
I believe, as Hyan said, it will be the test after the 9th test. Assuming they extend the 9th test all the way until Saturday, you may not be playing until a week from tomorrow
The new testers can log in as soon as they download the client.
The people added on the 28th May were able to log in during the weekend test and play.
Since some new testers dont get access til June 2nd I'd say we will have 3 tests this week then Alpha 2 will start next week.
I hope I'm wrong though.
I'm not sure if this is "news" or not, but GameInformer has a... blurb, basically, about 14 this month, and it states directly that there will not be any PS3 beta action.
Don't listen to them! Of course they will be a ps3 Beta! Not an Alpha, but BETA.
Curse SE for using Alpha/Beta confusingly!
If you're refering to the article where the author did little more than whine about XIV, it's a load of crap. It's easier for SE to test in-house for consoles in terms of bugs, but they still need feedback from PS3 players about the game systems. I don't think anyone realistically expects to see PS3 access to the beta until at least partway through the closed beta (if not forcing them to wait for the open beta), but I'd be surprised as hell to see PS3 excluded from the beta altogether, especially when SE has already released promo codes for PS3 beta involvement with FFXIII.
