Considerable changes to the server setup and gameplay will continue to be made. These will not be worked into upcoming alpha tests, but will instead be implemented for the beta test phase.

With implementation of the world servers I wonder if they will be testing out a character transfer system along with world selection upon character creation.

Also with that in mind, are the servers named yet?

Yes servers are named. And no, I think the last thing on their list of things to do is work out a character transfer system. World server system is to have multiple servers working at once..........

It is now, but it wasnt when I received the beta invite. When I tried to login and failed, I clicked the Member button and ended up linking my account to a a membership.

Is it bad?

Okay, I'm really confused.

From what I can gather, I got my key from registering my old FFXIII beta thingy, and its linked to my 'Square enix members' account. I apparently need to link that to my 'Square enix account'. The FAQ is so stupid and really explains nothing, my members account doesnt even tell me if its linked to anything. Can anyone tell me how the hell I'm supposed to do this? I'm so freaking confused and the customer services are so shit it's unbelievable, even the mention of 'FFXIV' gets a massive wall of DOESNOTCOMPUTE. (Also, I'm in the EU.)

I didn't have it linked either. It's linked now, but didn't really make a difference.

You dont need to link or activate anything, you just need to use the right log in details.

If its not working for you, then contact customer support and they will likely be very unhelpful.

EDIT: Your log in WILL NOT work until the day your email says you get access, and don't be a douche and expect it to work at midnight on the day. If it doesn't work until 11:59pm on that day then tough, you'll get over it.

Yes, thats what I was thinking at first. But my email AND my Account Membership status page clearly state I should have access starting may 28, and yet I still can't. So at this point I'm willing to try all kind of wild rumor

Oh I did contact customer support. So far all I got is "it should work, if it doesn't its because you are wrong. Consult the tester site for more detail".

I tried with Opera, Chrome and IE8. For testing purpose, I gave my login info to a friend I really trust so he can try and YES he have access to the site. I really doubt its a browser issue, but he's on FireFox so im gonna try it. After that I'll investigate routers and firewall i guess? :/

How is the servers during the last few tests? Are they pretty much stable or still undergoing semi big - big improvements or just a few minor adjustments here and there?
