Id say playing battlefield is more interesting than both BG and the alpha board.

SE fail... they added so many ppl for the 6/10 test that nobody can get in (NA). It seems like character select/creation is its own server of sorts, since it doesn't select your server until after you make a toon. And now none can get to character select screen lol

First alpha test for me, keep getting the black loading window with a timeout error.

Its all part of the testing process. It was like this in the earlier tests, then they got it all working.

Whatever fix they put in place isn't coping with the larger amount of people now, so they need to look at it again.

Thats why its called a test, not a preview.

It's good that they are finding their bottlenecks. Hopefully it'll be fixed for launch.

Yar looks like the world's are working as intended but the character selection/creation server is the bottleneck right now.

I guess testing it with heavy load is necessary especially for the time the game goes live, still too bad for the testers though.

I think you can just use the "return"/teleport function? I remember doing this when I got to play.

Ya, you have to select the "Return" command from the menu.

I played for 2 and a half hours or so tonight. Apparently they were making adjustments mid-session which prevented people from logging in. I made it through the character creation process a few times before finally being able to log in. People were noting that the error message everyone was getting meant that the servers weren't even up for testing, and I noticed that the available options in the character creation changed during this period of time. Originally there were in some cases huge numbers of options (like 130ish hair color settings), but these were just the already available ones repeated several times over. By the time I was able to log in, they had removed all the repeat options (and I could only pick between the first two voice options, though there were more than that.)

Once I got in, everything went smoothly.

And personally I like the lighting as is, and also feel that the new screenshots are ugly.

Maybe im just lucky but i havnt experienced any lag or connection or login problems since beginning.

I have plenty of questions that i have put in the Alpha Testing Forums but i feel i might get some better responces here. Should we not discuss these things outside of the Alpha test forums? If i did post the questions could i be kicked out of the testing phase?

Well, the guy on top of the page said it was only because of SE's changes in the middle of the test why NA had some trouble logging in, so I'm not sure if there was more to it than that.

If you're not "Oreth" on the alpha forums or in-game there's very little chance you'll get banned for posting here. I doubt SE cares although some idiot might still report you if they make the connection. Little chance tho.
