How's the EU test going? ;o
Well, lack of info isn't great, but lack of complaining is pretty good news.
Is that supposed to be a mosquito? 0.oSpoiler: show
Rejoice for there will be all silence in japan after the test, ah that is sooooo relaxing!
Any reports on the stability of the servers in this testing?
wish they would get out of alpha for 2 reasons:
A: they can get more ppl in and i can not get chosen and
B: They can add more crafting classes because i'm dying to see how that turns out.
Since these servers are smooth enough to not merit any kind of complaint apparently, this is just a really good of things to come. Hopefully these are the fruits of the cancelled tests from last week.
Sadly alpha is guna be a few more weeks at the most, they haven't had chance for testers to test what SE originally wanted.
Hopefully I am wrong though.
nice to hear servers are much more stable. Good sign for getting out of alpha... If it keeps up, would be nice to think alpha will only go on for another week or two. Maybe middle of May at the longest?
That's the thing though, aside server stability and making sure gamep'ay mechanics arent broken, what are they looking for that only alpha testers can test? Id figure that once server stability is mostly fixed, then they can move on to more gameplay mechanics and balancing
didn't the recent interview say they were testing the progression scheme as well and that they were going to wipe all the toons and put a different scheme in place and let them play through that - then after that stage is over it will move to alpha 2 or beta 1?
ah here it is
so we can expect another round of invites going out sometime after the characters have been wipedHow long do you plan to run the current alpha test?
Komoto: We had a general idea in the beginning, but the server stability issues have caused more problems than we could foresee. We still want to examine players after they have been able to level their characters a little more.
Tanaka: Actually, we have two patterns set up for the speed of character growth, so we plan to delete all characters at some point during the alpha. After we collect data on the currently implemented pattern, we will wipe everyone and start again with a the second one in play.
- So, at some points you will have to start over from scratch.
Komoto: That's right. This isn't limited to the alpha, but in the beta as well, once things are running smoothly, we plan to do this multiple times up until the game's release.
- Will you move on to the beta phase once you have fully examined the growth rate?
Tanaka: Currently, the alpha test takes place on a single World. The next step is to increase the number of Worlds, which will multiply the number of testers. That will be the start of what we call Beta-1, or perhaps Alpha-2.
Pretty sure using alphas to test server stability was pretty high on the list for what they wanted, though.
Guessing they'll be running all of the different balance builds they have prepared for the next few tests.
