1. I hope crafting is going to be challenging like in FFXI. In WoW, everyone has maxed out crafts and therefore crafting really isn't worth much.
2. Is there any subjob capabilities/references so far? I loved that in FFXI. You could adjust your character to whatever you needed.../nin or /sam, /blm or /whm, etc etc.
3. I hope there will be similar partying/exp structures as in FFXI. In WoW you would just quest quest quest (at least pre-dungeon finder). You could literally quest your way up to 80 without talking to another person.
4. Hope you can carry multiple linkshells/guild at the same time. In other MMOs you can only be in one guild/linkshell at a time.
5. Aion/WoW have cool title functions that would be neat. So, your name would say "Gidonidon the Great" or whatever based on accomplishing certain missions or quests.
6. Accomplishments would be cool too
7. How about some mounts!?
You are forced to pick all your other gear and stick with it before engaging, so making you pick an arrow type seems to make sense as well.
From what we have seen so far, arrows only vary in damage, sleep bolts, bloody bolts etc are likely to be replicated via abilities rather than equipables this time round (if at all).
stat increases from 101->102 onwards are 12 points instead of 11..
also, the game is pretty enjoyable even in alpha if u're in the right zone
Ah I see.
People seem obscenely confused about this Refill thing. :\
-Say you have 99 demon arrows idling in your inventory, and you have 99 demon arrows equipped.
-You fire ten shots, so now you have 89 demon arrows equipped.
-You use Refill. Ten of your inventory demon arrows jump over to your equipped arrows, so you now have 99 demon arrows equipped and 89 demon arrows idling in your inventory. Ta-daa.
I think that the leader has to activate the battle regiem icon, and then followed by whoever party memebrs have TP to use then select the ability, after than Im not sure other than it lists what ability is slotted for your party members....I don't see how it works to tell you the truth. It could be a variety of things, like maybe it only works with combinations of abilitys, or maybe the battle regiement is not fully funcational in the alpha build.

heres a good pic of me and him working on a questleve. I relly like the way they work, so long as your not dissconecting due to server error its a great system.
Right now it's as archaic as you can imagine. Empty quiver during fight, you either throw rocks for 2dmg or enter passive mode (7 secs), fumble in your menus and equip arrows, re-enter active mode (5 secs) all while getting attacked~
Spent around 30 mins trying to load up a regimen. Kinda hard to communicate when we can't see party TP and the chat log is spammed. Plus it was laggy, I had to spam abilities just to get them to activate. TP seemed to be bugged for us as well, we would get random spikes of TP gain, sometimes when not even hitting anything. Then while trying to organize someone would lose tp, it dropped pretty fast even in active mode.
yeah that was the otehr problem, the server was half the time not counting TP as you landed a hit, so I MIGHT get 400-500 TP after hitting something, but then the server wasn't updating so I would expect to use a ability but the TP eiethr didn't show up or it would come all at once when the battle was over, that was very frusterating.
Can you get TP from throwing rocks, so that you can use the refil action, or does this require that you have at least 1 arrow in your quiver or is it just easier to enter passive mode whilst being attacked.Originally Posted by Ghostsix.Midgard
Is this not related to lag though ?yeah that was the otehr problem, the server was half the time not counting TP as you landed a hit, so I MIGHT get 400-500 TP after hitting something, but then the server wasn't updating so I would expect to use a ability but the TP eiethr didn't show up or it would come all at once when the battle was over, that was very frusterating.
I'm not in the alpha but based on what I read in the manual I imagined it like this:
The leader selects Battle Regimen and a window pops up on each party members' screen. Each party member can then click and drag one of their abilities into this box. Once all members have equipped an ability, a Battle Regimen will be ready for use.
The Battle Regimen will be activated by the leader and all abilities go off in the established order automatically. Perhaps more than one Battle Regimen can be made in advance, kind of like the Paradigms in XIII. Again that's how I imagine it.
As far as Guildleves, it's a pretty cool system. I flagged a leve, my party member got the animation and quest target on screen as well, without picking up a card. He was able to participate, just didnt get the gil/item reward at the end. Your Leve mobs spawn in certain areas on the map and there's arrows guiding you to the area. Other people can see your mob targets but can't attack them. Leve mobs have little card icons next to the name if they're yours.
Basically you go grab a Leve from an npc. Then head to the Aetherite camp in whatever area the leve is for. Talking to the Aetherite asks you which leve you want to start (they are timed) and how many people (designated by stars) are you going with. I was solo and still able to select 3 stars. It made the mobs slightly harder and I believe I got more gil at the end. (need to confirm) Lag out during the guildleve counts as a fail and you have to reflag at the npc.
You can do the same leves over, and by trading them in the npc mentions a bonus for repeats. I did a few 3 times and got the same item, just more gil. i wasn't counting exp per mob because the log was spammed to hell.
Our TP gaining issue definalty was related to lag, the server was having trouble in certian areas and this causing more people to be loging in probably constantly meaning more load on the server and causing other areas to lag slightly more and this is how it was affecting us. What was frusterating was not knowing if its safe to take on a mob cause if you want to plan an attack move to a new enemy NPC but not knowing if the TP system is working is very limiting. Then also for most of the test I loged in my characters physical rank was 4 with 1xp filling the bar and after comleting 4 or 5 questleves the bar had not moved...I wasn;t sure if it was regestering, althought my axe rank was going up so I could get new abilitys when I ranked axe up and then when I wanted to use it my TP wasn't working. -_-''
I did however log in one last time near the end of the test period and my characters physical rank had gone up to 7 so looks like again a server lag issue.
very good...In theory..there won't be any draging of anything in the games final version thats for sure. What I experienced did not seem like a fleshed out feature, just click an icon, icon goes red....have TP to use so select ability, of coarse take note we decided before the battle to attack using battle regeiment on the next enemy NPC, so he had to do this at the same time, and I only ever saw a list appear above the party member list, an ability some sniper/archer shot ability, so thats about it then I carried out my ability and no burst damage that I noticed anyway. It didn't seem like it was going to work due to the TP issues we were getting. But I would definatlyu like to see something like you mentioned above where we slot an ability and then can excecute from a seperate trade window.
The battle regimen doesn't have to be made up of TP moves, it can be normal ones too. Regardless, its very hard to get it working. Even though the servers were better there is still lag and bugginess with a few things.
There is probably a reaon they haven't asked for feedback on the regimen system at all.
That armor list was awesome, do anymore exist? like weapons, shields and other races/genders?
Cure is fully AoE in the sense that everyone around you gets healed, heals people also outside of your party if they are within range.
