Adding to this, my current Night TP set has 35 less acc than my Day TP set. So I should definitely swap from Acubens to Turban..
That still leaves me with 25 acc I would need to match my day TP set. I could get better rings and pump out another 4-5 acc there, use Usu body instead of AF+1 for 13.5 more acc there (8 str, 3 dex, 13 more acc, and stp > extra DW?), but that is still leaving me with needing 6-7 acc.
So I guess my Night Acc based TP Set should be this:
Turban/Ancient Torque/Suppa/Brutal
Usu body/Relic Hands/ToreadorsX2
Culc/Swift/Haidate/Usu feet.
That would give me the capped hit rate of my day set, with 3% more haste, 7 more str, 14 more dex (with a loss of 17 evasion, 17 attack).
Right?
Did you multiply it by 1.4 to account for the 40%(I think that's the proc rate?) OAT?
Anyway comparing O.bow and V.bow, V.bow is going to be better in uncapped acc situations due to it having 7(+1.5 from AGI)Racc on it with demons.
So in the end it boils down to:
1 base dmg, 9.5 Racc, 5 Ratk vs ~7% overall delay reduction
There's situations for both but keep in mind that ranged delay is much more susceptible to human error due the fact the player needs to mash a macro every 6 or 7 seconds for the duration of an fight/event.
I'll tweak my builds for Obow/dst tomorrow when I have time to look at the Store TP needed for 5/6 hit builds with different SJs and if I can hit them or not.
Are you seriously suggesting that changing to an inferior weapon is the proper solution to being 4% under the accuracy cap?
I mean, really?
Depending on the the target, yeah. As I said its situational.
Depending on RNG's TP/WS Split, V.bow might well be better, espeically once you 5hit it.
V.bow/K.arrows are better for sidewinder, and even with demons, better for barrage.
Since you never seem to post any screenshots of your own jobs/gear, and seem to be as bad a Pchan was for just claiming x>y in every concievable way without any background information to back it up; forgive me for not taking half a line of "lulz dnt use that use this" as gospel.
lol
Yeah, I'm making it. You know fine well I have a problem with blanket statements about things where people dont take everything into account.
from wiki:
where the 1.7s~1.8s is the delay where you put your weapon away.So the delay between shot of ranged weapon is :
Delay = (Weapon Delay/110)s + 1.7s~1.8s + 1.1s
assuming 1.8s for both, the realative delays are:
V.bow: 7.35 seconds
O.bow: 6.83 seconds
resulting in a difference of 0.52 seconds.
7.35/0.52 = 14.13 shots before O.bow "gains" an extra shot over V.bow. So 15 shots in actuality since you can't shoot 0.13 of a shot.
15 shots at 7.35s delay is 110.25 seconds.
So any fight lasting less than 110.25 seconds, with another target not immediataly available results in O.bow not having an advantage over V.bow. (some dynamis zones, limbus, some ein zones spring to mind as there are gaps in the pulls)
You're going to weaponskill 3 times with a 6hit from 15 TP shots, if the damage gained by 1 additional TP shot of Obow+dst out weighs the damage gained by better stats for TP damage(irrespective of delay) and better weapon skill damage available with bow; then yes, Obow is better.
With a 5hit in the same time frame, the O.bow would gain an extra weaponskill (16 tp shots/4 vs 15tp shots/4). However, this advantage dissapears if the duration of the battle is extended by the 7.35 seconds needed for V.bow to have another shot.
Additionally, slug shot and sidewinder are different weaponskills, with different modifiers (I realise STR still works very well for slugshot, but the weaponskill doesnt have a STR mod like winder), so the damage gained from weaponskills is going to be slightly different.
And on top of this, snapshot merits/equipment is going to reduce the difference in delay, meaning more shots need to be fired for O.bow to "gain" a shot over V.bow, which is the whole basis that your argument lies upon.
I'm not familiar with the damage formulas required to calcute said differences, but I'm pretty sure it's not as black and white as you cliam it is.
choo choo?
what makes obow best? like what's the math/reasoning behind it? i'm not trying to be confrontational, you just haven't bothered explaining it and i'm curious. i don't really know how rng works but i'd like to level it. i think the obow/vbow stuff came up recently in the random question thread also and there was just a bunch of confusing/contradictory responses.
Essentially the same capacity for damage, while being stupidly fast. The only time Vali's Bow should touch Othinus' Bow is during a kited fight.
Except it's not haste, it's a delay, which is humanly controlled.
If you don't hit your Racc macro in the ~0.5 seconds(without any snapshot modification) after the oppertunity opens to shoot, then the adavantage of Obow is lost.
Using JAs/quivers/food/moving because sweet spot has moved all cut into this 0.5 second advantage Obow has over V.bow. If you could just engage and shoot automatically like regular melee then I'd not dispute this.
I realise that from this reasoning, Gun is best. But I'm way too cheap to spend 140~k on a stack of quivers compared with ~50k of demons/dst bolts.
What's more, by using O.bow, you lose out on 5 dmg, 6.5 Racc, 3 str/3racc, 5 Ratk for sidewinder and barrage.
That's why I was asking about TP/WS+barrage split typically seen by rangers.
If you were in any position to be debating this (which you've already made painfully clear that you aren't) you wouldn't need to be told TP/WS/barrage ratios because you could calculate them easily. Rng above any other job has an easier time doing this due to the fact you won't end up WSing several hits after you reach 100tp so an accurate model will actually represent a realistic ingame scenario.
If your arguement is that if you play rng in a lazy way and don't spam macro to ensure you are shooting constantly then it will happen regardless of the weapon delay, it will just account for a slightly lower %. All models used for calculating total damage are based on perfect play, so this "well if I'm shit at my job...." mentality just begs the question why you are even bothering at all.
Should I be taking my obow out of storage? I'm wondering why almost every rng I see is all about Bows with the occasional gun fan. No one uses obow, at least not on jol/odin/ixion that I've seen (and idr what else I've used rng on, a few ZNMs, yllibiganthingydragon especially, but again just like ixion/odin it's all bow bow bow)
Also, demons? Kaburas are like 2k/stack more expensive.
Speaking of which, unless you're full-timing Kabura Arrows, a large part of Vali's Bow's advantage goes to absolute shit.
