Ya I took me like 30 low man kills to get my torque...
Ya I took me like 30 low man kills to get my torque...
Did you honestly tell someone with 24% haste to use faith torque over tiercel?
Also, bring TH4 ffs. Sold a good dozen faith torques and average between 1/5 and 1/6.
All kills done with TH4. Me and my friend aren't into the 0/20+ ratio yet, but we are at the stage where we can certainly be called unlucky with it.
Big MNK gear set dump. Advice welcomed, much to upgrade with abyssea.
Spoiler: show
Edit: Focus up FW TP swaps into Acubens, Forager's, Triumph ring, Faith torque. Accidentally uploaded the same pic twice.
Drops off the pieste boss in Abyssea iirc. Also derp thanks for the spoiler, knew I forgot something.
Yeah drops off pieste and mnk can use.
Cobra Harness/Usu body for Footwork build aye? Should drop you a hit to WS.
Yeah I'm working on allied notes currently. Will have that in a couple days.
Yes. But only you would toss out base damage, acc, and attack for a lower improvement in hit rate.
Trying to broadcast that Tiercel should replace Faith torque when it is BARELY situationally better only in instances where you are capped on acc or attack and getting double marches/haste (albeit you should always be getting double marches and haste) is just plain attention whoring and stupid.
When focus is up you can make a better argument that it's just a base damage increase and attack versus hit rate up, but even then they are damn near equal (tiercel pulls slightly ahead).
So why would you use a piece that is inferior most of the time and near equal other times? Oh ya, because you're Thorny and you like giving bad advice.
Also, lol @ assuming people that have shit luck on faith torque just dont bring TH4. WHY DIDNT WE THINK OF THAT!?
This will end well.
It's pretty clear how it will go:
1. Thorny will respond with a biased post with math in favor of attack capped situations with a Mnk with in a lvl range that doesnt get base damage increase from torque and is using sushi on a feinted mob with focus up.
2. He'll then compare that to 1% haste with double marches/haste and a dancer with fully merited haste samba fighting mobs with no evasion or defensem, getting Dia3, and fighting outside a starter city.
3. His 2 lap dogs will then come in and say something stupid.
4. A few posts of arguing between us about how his math shows his comment was correct (.4% of the time), and not completely useless, insulting, and retarded.
5. Then Isladar will tell us to shut up.
The funny thing is: I dont actually dislike Thorny. Half the time he gives good advice. It would just be 1000 times more helpful if the other half of his posts weren't baseless generalizations and insults based on gear suggestions that are equal/worse/fractionally situationally better, all the while insulting people for using/suggesting alternatives that are within .002% of what he was laughing at people for using. It just gets old.
? But we ARE talking about when Focus is up lol.
Details details Q.Q.
Base damage from h2h skill = 0.11*skill and then adding 3.
@ 80:
301 skill. 308 with torque. Base damage = 36.11 and 36.88
317 merited. 324 with torque + merits. Base damage = 37.87 and 38.64
So 1 base damage and 7 att vs. 1% haste (2 min out of 5), or when overcapped on acc. (I already said the haste -marginally- wins)
However: One thing nobody mentioned:
If you dont need the 7stp on usu feet to save an attack round on Mnk, Turban/Haidate/Fumas + Faith torque > Turban + Haidate + Usu + Tiercel. (But again it's near fucking equal >.>).
So either way: It's stupid to jump into the thread and chastise people screaming "ZOMG YOU ARENT CHOOSING THE HASTE OPTION".
This is wrong. 7 STP will always be better than 1% haste as far as I know(on MNK or DW job). 7STP (ignoring the atk) will add more damage than 1% haste will. Monk (basically any DW job) will multi hit far too frequently for a x-hit build to be realistic. STP will still decrease your average number of hits to 100 TP and thus adding damage.
..Increases average TP/hit?
2H DD need a very precise amount of STP to produce an X-hit build that cannot be affected by one's accuracy, so anything beyond the required amount won't make a difference. 1H and H2H DD end up with varying amounts of TP due to the extreme variation that can occur in the number of attacks per round, meaning that the additional TP/hit will occasionally cause them to hit 100% a round early.
No.
