Sorry - there's a difference between reporting on a very obscure cleric in Iran making an obviously retarded claim versus something more substantial that may show Iran (or Muslims) in a negative light.

Coverage of, for instance, the infighting in Nigeria between Muslims and Christians is suitable news, and by no means shows either faction in a positive light (nor is that really the intent, rather to direct attention to a very serious issue); but again I ask what's the point of such an article? Anything but antagonizing Iran (and/or Muslims)?

I dislike Ahmadinejad as much as I possibly dislike anyone out there...but find me the unadulterated quote where he denies the Holocaust. I'm sure you'll be able to, because that's such a common belief -- all that I've seen through transcripts thus far are his claiming that the Holocaust "didn't happen as people say it happened" and rejection of the "total number of Jewish people killed."

I'll agree with you though - that's stupid -- even considering the modified "Holocaust didn't happen as they say it did." If not more, at least on three counts:

1) Historical inaccuracy
2) No head of state should be so foolish
3) Minimizing the traumatic events of the Holocaust is in no way endearing

You guys are missing a point I've made abundantly clear: I'm not saying in any shape or form Muslims are 'perfect' -- we're just as screwed up as everyone else. Sri Lanka I don't know shit about, but I thought that the Japanese weren't Buddhist then? Didn't the Emperor declare the "Divine mandate, or mandate of heaven" or some shit. Basically said that he himself was god, or at least of divine origin, which when they were forced to obey him as god that would technically make them not Buddhist.

Also, one of the requirements when Japan surrendered to the US was that the Emperor had to declare that he was not divine.
