Your parents asked for your report card. You did not give them your report card. It's not a tough concept. You are acting like a spoiled brat. I am not the only person saying this. Stop being ignorant and acting so self-righteous - you are anything but.
I know adults that if they got 10% of the parental attention as a kid that yours seem to give then they wouldn't be drugged out losers working at gas stations or a grocery store at this point in their life.
I'll stop calling you a spoiled brat once you show that you are anything but. Instead of taking it so personally look at why I am saying this based on the information presented. If you didn't need to be called this then you wouldn't have come in here whining about parents being good parents.
Maybe I missed it, but where has it been said that his parents ever directly asked for the report card? Based on what I've read, this kid simply didn't offer it to them. If they asked, and he then refused/lied, then yes, he's a little twat. But if you're making the baseless assumption that they did in fact ask, then you're being quite the douche for calling the kid out like that.Originally Posted by Pirian

Again, it all depends on the facts of the situation. We have one side of a story. For all we know, these parents could be outright fucktards that decided to go to their kid's school and bitch at the administration instead of actually talking to their child.
He's hiding it from his parents - that's the same as telling them "no."
No. Parents deserve respect because they are parents. They deserve respect because they didn't abandon him. They deserve respect because they care enough about his grades to take time out of their schedules to go to his school and talk to his principal about his grades.
If you're so worried about them coming and asking for your report card then how about you do the mature thing and confront them about it directly. Sit down with them, with your report card, and discuses it like an adult - instead of coming to an online forum looking for people to back up your ridicules childish opinion that your parents are overreaching.
I'm sorry but Pirian is completely correct, stop being a spoiled brat and show them the stupid card. You should be glad your parents care enough to do this for you, some people would kill for parents that actually gave a shit.
I won't continue arguing beyond this, because it's clear that you have no willingness to look beyond your narrow viewpoint. There are a many people that end up "not abandoning" their children because they would feel guilty about doing so. This does not make it the right decision. In a lot of those cases, the parents end up resenting their children, and neglecting/abusing them. Gross generalizations like "all parents deserve respect simply because they are parents" are incredibly ignorant to make. That's all I can say, and I hope you're willing to think a little more before you lash out again at someone that, quite frankly, has showed more maturity in this thread than you have.Originally Posted by Pirian
If they didn't care about him they wouldn't give a shit about his report card, especially not enough to go to the lengths that they have to actually see his report card. You sound like another kid that's still in high school trying to convince yourself to something similar to he OP.
I know Pirian is right. I wasn't asking for a way to hide it further from them. I said I was looking help for a method of responding. Should I confront them or wait for them to confront me about this. I understand that if they did infact ask for it, there would be no way for me to hide it. I thank you for all your opinions on the subject matter.
edit: Thank you Blubbartron.
I would confront them first about it, if you wait till they confront you they'll probably be more upset than if you just confront them.
This, shows "maturity" if you come to them upfront, and however "spoiled brat" some people think he is the kid obviously cares enough to ask what to do on a forum.
94 GPA doesn't make sense to me either @_@. And as said your parents would have very little room to be mad if this is the true GPA, it would mean that you got maybe two B's and a ton of A's...
General life advice: The AP tests matter a ton more than the grades in the classes themselves because they get you out of actual classes IN college when you do well. I took seven AP tests and got college credit (4 or 5 score) for six of them which saved my family an entire year and a half's worth of tuition.
Also, if you're so smart, edit your internet posts like you do your essays. Bitches love that shit.
I'm unwilling to look beyond this narrow viewpoint because there is no alternative. If he's taking AP classes then he's old enough to get an emancipation if he so chooses.
You're right. Living on the streets is a much better choice for a teenager.
Neglect is grounds for emancipation, and child services take it very seriously, too. In any case I highly highly doubt his parents fall into this category. If there was serious child abuse going on here then he wouldn't be on the internet asking what to do if his parents ask for his report card that he's been hiding from them.
He's even stated that he has a sibling in college. His parents deserve some fucking respect for raising at least 1 kid that has made it that far. There is no bending on this.
lol, you are really funny. The kid come in here acting like a spoiled kid with no discipline. I wrote what I wrote because it needed to be said without mercy, because you don't get the attention of a kid like him going soft on him.
I'm just confused why this is even an issue in the first place. You get above average marks, you're getting letters from Ivy League colleges, and you're...afraid what your parents are going to say? Do they expect that much of you? This just seems like a non-issue, I don't understand why there's a topic for this.
You have a report card, that you have good marks on, but you didn't think to show it to your parents, and now you're afraid to bring it up to them at all because they'll think you're hiding something from them. Is that mostly it? You should've just shown it to them to begin with, then. And if you haven't shown it yet, do it now and quit posting on BG about it.
To the idiot posting that a parents' respect has to be earned: if the most pressing issue in this kid's life is that he's afraid to show a good report card and Ivy League inquiry letters to his parents, I'd say he's got a pretty good life for himself, thanks to mom and dad. Yeah, something else may be bugging him, but his report card is the thing he chose to make his first topic about, so clearly something else can't be any more pressing.
