depends on the kind of coverage you have on the insurance itself. my job's insurance doesnt cover anything but regular cleaning and a few other misc operations, which is why its feasible to only have 10$ taken out from my paychecks. however, every job is different. your job might have more coverage than mine would and you would probably want to double check the benefit availabilities from the dental plans themselves. my other part time job actually covers it if you're full time. my friend just got her son's braces done and she only had to pay a 40$ deductible, i think? just double check

Literally 95%+ of policies have no dental coverage whatsoever, for some reason dental health is considered a luxury in the US...

Question! I went ahead with the crest white strips because the first 4 people in the thread responded to get those. But, when you take these things off do you brush your teeth right away? Or let the gunk stay on your teeth? It doesn't say it anyplace on the packaging. It says don't brush your teeth BEFORE you put the strips on, but nothing about after.

i shouldve specified. it's 2 different benefits that comes out of my paycheck. 1 from humana and from my dental company which i never took the liberty of finding out since my teeth are ok for the most part right now.

but my part time jobs offers those 1 combined benefit as well. idk if its a FL thing, but i think a lot of ppl have dental coverage availabilities in their medical insurance*shrug* idk, i could be dead wrong. im just eyeballing it really.

didn't read whole post but by far easiest way is to find someone you know who has paid to have professional molds made for their teeth by their dentist and that can by the legit strong gel to whiten your teeth and just get them to buy extra gel. then go to walmart, walgreens or anywhere like that and by dental guards. kinda like mouth pieces for sports but for ppl who grind their teeth when they sleep. boil them, mold them, insert gel, ???, profit.

I didn't brush my teeth afterwards, just got the stuff off since it only needs to stay on your teeth for as long as the strip is applied.

Seriously, just do this. With as much money as you will end paying for other methods. You can get a permanent mold + 1-2 guards (depends on how nice your dentist is). From there you only need 1 syringe a month which runs about 20~30. No sensitivity, and doesn't destroy the enamel like most of the OTC whitening solutions do.

How much are the molds? Also, can u just pick up the syringe from the dentist or do you need some presciption?

You just pick it up from a dentist, usually 20~30 a syringe.

As for the mold, depending on who/what/where. They can run $150-200. But you get the mold with it in case you ever lose the mouth guard, they can create a new one (some places usually for free like my dentist).

Does anyone have experience with whitening teeth that are naturally yellowish due to translucent enamel? Going on what I can turn up on google, it seems it's possible to bleach the internal dentin with the professional grade shit, but I can't find much in the way of actual testimonials one way or the other.

I'm not about to spend an absurd amount of money on it if I have no idea if it's going to work, or if the dentin can "re-yellow" a few months later (no idea if it can do that.. lol), which is why I'm asking if anyone here with naturally translucent enamel has tried it.

I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but there are places online to buy custom mold kits and generic high-strength peroxide paste. Going to the dentist for a tray mold is a massive waste of money.

Everywhere I've worked was like that. Dental, medical, and vision were all offered separately, and you could opt in or out of either (at the places where you paid part of your insurance out of your paycheck, though I did work one place where it was all covered by the company without deduction).
