Carpenter's Smock Broken +1 Skill

Before I start this post, yes I am aware it could have been bad luck but I tested this with several other cheaper synths and to the same problem.

Okay so the past view days I have been crafting Elemental stave and have being doing very well hitting the 25% HQ rate and some times even better. Well yesterday morning I changed my Carpenter's Apron into a smock which apparently was a mistake. As I went 1/9 yesterday and am now 0/11 on stave and then I am at the 10% on other tier 2 crafts which have now become tier 1 it seems.

I have contacted a GM about this and here is the conversation. feel free to flame if you want I do not care nor will reply. I am only posting this to save people the trouble and the loss of Gil as I have.

I've never had any kind of luck with the HQ staves. I gave up on my signed set after thunder and ice because it was so frustrating.

Delevel your craft to 83, attempt Cursed Togi with smock on. If you can't, it's broken. If you can, have fun getting back to 100.

even with a T3 your sample is too small. TBH on a T3 I would be a believer if you did 100 synths and had less than a 35% HQ rate. Yes that's lower than the "accepted values" but let's err on the side of caution.

I'm still gonna wager it was a bad streak. You need a lot more than 20 T2 synths and 10 T3 synths to make anyone here a believer.

Is it possible? Sure. So is the error we recently had on odin where he just sat there and did nothing for the last 40% (only to lead to double M.body drop, so don't count us lucky). But so is walking into Riverne Site B and seeing hot pink hippogryphs.

How about you try a cheap 31+ recipe on 50 or 100 synths? Then you would have a better argument to present to the GM.

I went 0/about 17-20 about 2 years ago on a 100+3 woodworker with advanced support.

Crafting has always been broken, but you were just lucky prior to the smock

I just did 12 lvl44 synths(I'm 93 WW) Smock + Furnishing and I yielded a 6/12.

ok i think i was wrong and sorry for wasting any time... i am at 5/18 for HQ atm so going to quit before i waste to much gil and just think of myself as having bad luck

really? 1/9, 0/10 or w/e?
my lifetime record on staves is in the 15-18% range 103+3. You're lucky to have a 25% rate or w/e thus far, its how it goes.

I have gone 0/27 and 0/23 on staves. bad streaks are bad. welcome to crafting.

you can do 500 synths w/ a lower rate than your 'normal' rate. It doesn't PROVE anything.

The only proof is what was stated before: attempt a synth where you are 16 below cap w/ smock on and it doesn't let you.

Short of that...SE announcing they broke it in an update.

morale of the story: if you don't have the gil to lose, don't craft with it.
