"AUX" SpeedFan Reading
http://i39.tinypic.com/f1mv77.jpg
Just built this computer, don't want anything frying itself especially since I just put in my new gpu like three days ago (GTX260). Is this right? Is there something I should be doing about it? Also this is when I'm idling and not doing anything, it jumps up a bit to like 100C when I start doing things, so basically I've stopped doing things for a while.
I downloaded Sensors View as it came up in my google search and it shows that the 'aux' is only running at like 30C rather than 86C, the rest of the temperatures match up though. The rest of my stuff usually idles at like 30-35C (despite what the pic says, it spiked right then for some reason)
I just want to make sure I don't melt anything on accident. Any help appreciated!

I'm gonna go with a false positive, speedfan cannot read value on this sensor and displays random results.
Can't find what it's associated with though.

AUX would indeed be the GPU, though I'm not sure why it would flagged AUX I dont think its anything to worry about. Judging by your other temperatures, you just have poor airflow in your case. You're not in any danger zones though. CPUs are fine up to around 70'C, and GPU thresholds are typically 105'C.
Also, your screenshot is obviously not idle since you're sitting at 30% CPU usage.
For comparison sake, here's my reading taken just now. Q6600 w/ 1.3V @ 3.2ghz, GTX470 w/ stock volts @ 725/925. Both of my components run 'hotter' than yours(especially since I overclock) if airflow was similar.

My case is a HAF932.

That's what the inside of my case looks like right now, is there anything I could do to improve air flow? I've tried to keep all of the cables as much out of the way as possible and they're all twist-tied where it makes sense to do so.

Assuming you have a front case + side panel fans in addition to the two I see at the top? Side+Front should be intake, and the two pictured should be exhaust. And could probably tidy up that bottom wiring if its blocking the front intake. Other than that I dunno outside of a new case/fans or something. Though I'd definitely recommend getting an aftermarket heatsink at some point, stock are garbage.

I can't really tell what motherboard that is but I /think/ your RAMs are in the wrong slots.
Black Black or Blue Blue for Dual channel.
-
The wires in the bottom right look like they're blocking an intake fan. I'd personally put them all to the bottom left where your other clump of wires is already.
Try and make sure you have good airflow from the intake fans, over all your parts, and to your outtake fans.
And yeah it looks like your ram is in the wrong slots.
-
there's no fan on the bottom, nothing's being blocked down there, and there's another sidefan that's on that panel that i removed, I suppose i'll change the ram though, didn't know it mattered
does it matter that my dxdiag still shows 4gigs of ram? i'm not opposed to changing it but if it doesn't seem to matter then i'd rather just leave it where it is
-
CPU-z will tell you if your RAM is currently in dual channel or single channel
You have the same amount of ram in both mode but dual channel gives more performance
-
well, i just went through taking apart my case, moving some wires (you all were right, there is a fan down in the bottom right but i never noticed it) and i tried moving the ram to both black/black and blue/blue configurations but my computer wouldn't start (turns on, screen stays black with 'no signal') when i had it in either of those configs, but it runs just fine when i have it as it is now (and is in that picture)
unless there's something i'm missing all i should have to do is put the two ram cards into the matching slots yes? or is there something else i'd have to do for dual-channel to work?
i'll have to do some reading i suppose, but i was hoping to avoid having to
thanks again all! you were right as always.
edit: it says i'm in single channel right now (cpu-z)
edit2: in case anyone would know offhand based on my mobo, my mobo is an Asus P7P55-M
-
I figured it was P7P55 by the look of the heatsink on the mobo but wasn't sure, if so you should have a MEMOK! button next to your rams. Put your RAMs on blue/blue and make sure they are very well seated, boot your comp and hit the memok button with a screwdriver or a pen.
if that doesn't work, clear CMOS (read manual, really easy), and retry.
