If you like some of the Adult Swim stuff, then Archer may also be something you enjoy, considering it's from one of the same writers (Adam Reed also did Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo).

Californication is a definite must watch. The only show that makes me laugh more than south park. Simply cannot wait til it starts again...
I have a feeling it's maybe not that popular since I don't recall ever seeing a thread about it here, but I've been really enjoying Lie to Me. I'm partial to the whole body language, microexpression thing to begin with though, and it can be somewhat predictable but I still like it.
Updated the OP because I've already watched all of Arrested Development (How did I miss this?!)
Some things, I really hate Adult Swim. Robot Chicken is the only Adult Swim show that I actually like.
I also don't like British shows except maybe the ones with Shaun of the Dead guys. (Tried to watch Dr. Who didn't really like)
I already have a friend bringing me his Firefly DVD so that's soon.
"Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, Fresh Prince of Bel-air" I did see when I was younger but not from start to finish like the rest of them.
I also don't like the procedural cop/investigation shows.
So In short: The Office + Firefly seems like what I'll watch first then move on to your other suggestions. Thanks guys.
The wire
Seconding Battlestar Galactica, Extras and Spaced.
Sons of Anarchy for sure. I missed the first season since the whole biker thing didn't seem so appealing, but I did watch season two and it was great. Season three starts in September I think...oh the wait![]()
Whose Line is it Anyway is a good improvisational comedy as well. Drew Carey hosted the show, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie were the regulars, and Wayne Brady eventually became a regular.
the new remake of V is pretty good if you like sci fi, still ongoing too
Crime/drama/comedy: Bones
Drama: FlashForward is an interesting story though I doubt will have any longevity, I can't see them being able to push the story another season without some pretty crazy spin
Comedy: Psych (seriously this show is all laughs, even when it tries to be serious it's funny)
Drama/Thriller: Fringe (This show is more X-Files than CSI, but it has a dose of both so if the science really turns you off then you may not like it)
Others have already been mentioned enough that I won't repeat, but ya all good suggestions here really
Bones
Castle
Fringe
United States of Tara(S1 was hilarious, on the fence about S2 right now)
Weeds...I liked Season 1 but after that they really changed the tone of the show.
