Actually he signed the current law into law in the 30's I think.
Actually he signed the current law into law in the 30's I think.
do you have a point here swampy? or are you just derailing with a predictable "FDR WAS A DICTATOR!" red herring?
You guys are slamming right-wingers for this when they are enforcing a law passed by a Dem.
I don't think FDR passed a law allowing local police officers to question someone's citizenship/residency status when citing someone for jaywalking or watering their lawn on an off day, nor for their race.
And if he did (which would have been wrong), we stopped doing so because we got smarter the times and conditions have changed. Doesn't mean we should do it again.
Don't think that you're being clever here; no one is going to defend everything FDR did just because he was a democrat and thus get stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding this current bill. You're really grasping here, lol.
What are you getting at?
And Ronald Reagan Opposed the Civil Right act of 1964.
It doesn't matter who passed what. At some point it was legal to discriminate against minorities and this law even with the minor changes still has the potential for massive civil rights violations.
Don't be stupid.
if we wanna play swampy's stupid gotcha-games, it's pretty easy to point out that the Gipper gave amnesty to 3 million illegals in the 80s.
but that conversation really doesn't go anywhere.
I usually just lurk these kind of topics but holy crap Swampy!? You use to use at least a small bit of logic when making counter arguments, what the hell happened?
"how can it be a draconian if FDR signed it!!!!?!1?"
fucking aye lol
This should be fun to watch when I go to ASU. I'm not sure if this affects on-campus activities much but I definitely wouldn't like to live instate, even if I probably wouldn't be directly affected.
All I'm saying is be consistent. If you're gonna bash righties for enforcing the law, bash the lefty that it made it the law as well. And hell, the Dem's have the majority, just repeal/preempt the Arizona law and it will be invalid.
You're retarded.
You don't need to depress the economy nor reduce jobs if they would just enforce the law already in the fucking books.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. btw if we want too I can point out that Mexicans have been in Arizona longer then Americans you nitwit and by pass this law your kicking up a hornets nest.
I have criticized FDR's internment of Americans in the past don't play stupid.
Sick of hearing the Conservative comeback of "DEMOCRATS DO IT TOO!"
What do you want a pat on the head? should activist be marching at FDR's grave?
What I learned today btw is how insignificant the teabagger movement is. Compare the protest today to any of the teabagger rallies and you'll see what I mean.
Even the Anti-war protest had bigger numbers then the teabagger rallies.
Annnnnnnd Native Americans were there before the Mexicans. Then the Spanish claimed it. Then Mexico gained military control over AZ. About 25 years later the US won the Mexican War and took control of most of AZ. The rest of the state was bought a few years later.
What was your point again?
His point is that Swampy doesn't have any. It's all irrelevant ad hominem nonsense.
if we get kicked out i say we take all Mexican food with us then what BITCH!
inb4 "Mexican food gives me diarrhea"- get an iron belly pussy.
also this is just racism plain and simple.
"Your taillight is out, sir...
Hmm, I'm not sure about your nationalism, your English is clearly broken and your skin is two shades too dark. Let me see some papers."
They may take our jobs, but they will never take our fast food.
