Phoenix Suns to Wear 'Los Suns' jerseys as a sign of solidarity toward the Hispanic community.

The Story itself is great but the best part is comments with all the butt hurt.

Try reading some of the comments on that article lol
I read it, then I read it again, just to make sure I wasn't tripping balls.

I wasn't, and it made me sad.

    Weeeeee.

The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." How's that for racial and ethnic profiling?
Consider: Open-borders protesters marched freely at the Capitol building in Arizona, comparing GOP Gov. Jan Brewer to Hitler, waving Mexican flags, advocating that demonstrators "Smash the State," and holding signs that proclaimed "No human is illegal" and "We have rights."

But under the Mexican constitution, such political speech by foreigners is banned. Noncitizens cannot "in any way participate in the political affairs of the country." In fact, a plethora of Mexican statutes enacted by its congress limit the participation of foreign nationals and companies in everything from investment, education, mining and civil aviation to electric energy and firearms. Foreigners have severely limited private property and employment rights (if any).

so we should lower ourselves to Mexico's standards, Gadritan? A nation overrun by cartels, ridiculous wealth inequality and poverty, etc.

    great "argument" you're presenting here.

edit: not to mention that a lot of those provisions Malkin mentions are currently in place in American immigration policy, aside from the national ID (which is now in Arizona, effectively) and limited speech for foreigners. However foreigners having limited political speech is also common in a lot of other countries (I know for sure that South Korea has a similar policy).

but again, aren't we better than that? don't we always strive to be better?

    Waiting on it.

And yes, to all of the "took mah jerb" morons out there: Go get a fucking education and quit thinking you can grind your money out on entry level jobs your entire life.

You're competing against SCV's on the mineral line when you have two nukes on standby with a full energy store.

and the whole problem with trying to redirect the immigration debate by turning it into a "Mexico sucks" circle-jerk is the fact that all the legals and illegals from Mexico in the US.... WANTED TO LEAVE MEXICO BECAUSE OF THINGS THAT SUCK THERE. Lack of quarter-decent jobs, tired of cartel violence, police corruption, etc... They may wave Mexican flags as a sign of their heritage, and people in Mexico may speak on their behalf because they share a heritage, but there are still glaringly obvious reasons why they left.

Rhino I think I can answer your question about the bill of rights applying to foreigners. That was the question right? Based off the detainee cases?

    Argument? No. Information? Yes.

Haven't seen Mexico's illegal immigrant policies mentioned anywhere here yet and thought I'd bring them up.

Oh yes, this will be amazing. I found a trailer for it on Youtube, and the comments were almost better than the video.

I can understand an issue about people worried about racial profiling, but the cold hard fact is that this is the reaction to the action made my illegal immigration. It's basic physics, people, Newton's 3rd law of motion may be the correct analogy here, though I may be wrong.

If you have your paperwork in order and you are a legal, you have nothing to really worry about, do you? If I have to pay fucking income tax so do you.

So because the conditions in Mexico are super shitty, it's ok for us to profile all Hispanics, citizen or not, legal or not?

Mexico's immigration policy is irrelevant in this discussion because we are not Mexico.

This is like having a PATRIOT Act discussion and then you bringing up China or Iran being even more repressive and having less privacy.

Has any state official even attempted to define what "reasonable suspicion" of an illegal immigrant is?

they've all been caught pretty speechless trying to answer that.

State Republicans are assuring us there will be no racial/ethnic profiling, but they can't tell us what there actually will be.

The question still stands: what will give an officer cause to to a legal residence check during any given lawful stop? (which includes traffic violations, watering your lawn on an off day, noise complaint, someone agreeing to answer your questions when investigating an unrelated crime, etc)
