oh I know that in fact not even Mexico outside of the town of Puebla celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Its essentially an American holiday now promoted by Beer companies like St. Pattys day.

I might be in Chicago now But In 2006 and subsequent Protests I was tagging along with HACE in Houston and in Los Angeles and attended Protest every which one I attended I counted more American flags the Mexican flags. In fact it was a point that was stressed with the organizers that people swallow their national pride(undocumented immigrants) and pick up an American flag because we knew people wouldn't see it for what it actually was(national pride) which was brought on by the antagonism of the Mexican and Chicano population.
