    New computer build problems.

    EVGA x58 SLI LE
    6 GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1600
    Corsair 650W Professional Modular
    Xigmatek Dark Knight Cooler
    HAF932 Case

Haven't put in the GPU yet, ran into a problem before hand.

As I was putting it together and nearing completing, plugged it in and turned it on for the first time. Worked good, stayed on, had an error 7A which, based on the manual, is an "initialize parallel port" error. No idea what that means.

Shortly after, it would turn on and after 10 seconds would restart, and this continued on. Between the time this occurred and when it was working aside from the 7A error, I disconnected it and turned the PSU switch off and moved it to my room.

I tried putting my old graphics card (Radeon X1950) in the computer to see if maybe something was being displayed on screen, which there wasn't, which then lead to the next problem below.

Since then, it now won't turn on at all. It's a flashing blue light by the 24-pin connector from the PSU which means it won't turn on for whatever reason. I'm stuck at this point.

I'm not sure where to go from here, and I'm not finding much on google. Going to continue looking into the issue, but might just head back down to microcenter tomorrow (where I bought everything) and see if they can just fix it up for me. They do have a "build your own PC" service at customer support, and I'm also a bit curious why they didn't try to offer it to me...I'm sure it costs money, and while looking on the site, I can't find the price of it. Does anyone know off hand?

Edit: Okay, taking out the third stick of RAM allowed it to go back on. Conducting further tests now...

0x7A error is vague... generally it could be a defective RAM.

Put one RAM at a time, download and burn UBCD and memtest them.

Reseated the RAM, occasionally it decides to turn on. Sometimes it flashes blue again in the same spot, wiggle the RAM, turns on. Even so, the board says "FF" which is the boot process, and even when it's connected to my monitor, it doesn't display anything...

Maybe the motherboard is defective then.

Flashing blue with that motherboard is 'Standby' mode, it should be green when you're powered on correctly.

Little hazy on what the problem is, are you POSTing?

Clear CMOS, just take out the battery for a min or so then stick it back in and boot.

Edit: or just hit the button if you have one.

Is there a loud beep a short while after you power the system up?

Have you gone to EVGA's website for any assistance? They have a pretty vast and helpful support forum where users help as much as they can. It's where I learned to build/overclock/maintain my system just by reading posts.

If you have no video card / onboard video at all it might not post at all, leave in the old one as you need to see whats going on.

Use a single ram stick for starters.

Make sure you also plug in the aux motherboard power connector besides the 24pin (its a 4 or 8 pin connector that goes in near the cpu socket somewhere and should NOT be marked as pci-e ).
