Advice requested: Moving long distance

I don't have much advice, but I am doing the same thing in about a week. Moving from FL to CA, and it is just such a daunting experience and stressing me out to my core right now.

I would like to say though, that Skype interviews are not as dumb as they sound and people use them more and more these days. Ask your potential employer for a phone/skype interview before you fork over 200 bucks on a plane ticket that later could be used for gas!

I just moved from FL to NY and I didn't have a job lined up. Some dedication and luck put me in a damned decent job (hello BG @ work) and a cheap place to live.

It stressed me out bigtime, but now that I am settled in, I am happier than I have been in a long time.

I feel you Miz. Since they blocked the site at work I can't post during the day anymore. Wouldn't be so bad except they also blocked all the proxy sites too. Bitches were on the ball for one time in the last ten years.

My biggest mistake when I moved from SD to FL was not realizing that when Uhual said their truck was good for 2-3 rooms, it truly meant room (Kitchen counts as a room, as does living room). Since I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment I didn't think I need more than a 2-3 room Uhual. Needless to say a lot of stuff got given away to my friends when I left SD.
