I'm not arguing having to grind in an MMO, whats dumb is having to grind an aspect of content to be competitive in another completely irrelevant aspect of the game. Arena itself is a massive grind for a title and a mount at the end of the season, no one is complaining about that. But if you're strictly PvEing you can avoid PvP all together, why can't someone who strictly PvP's wish for the same?

Presuming they keep the weekly cap for conquest points. Players will still continue to do arena to cap out conquest points weekly. I do not see the issue that's forcing PVP players to do PVE content. If they removed the weekly cap on Conquest/Valor points. Then I could see there being an argument.

So? Welcome to playing a MMO. I'm sure raiders don't care for grinding heroics either to cap out reputation / VP, and a lot of people "grinded" arenas for CP to get the t1 pvp weapons at the beginning of the raid tier.

That's not true. If you were doing high end PvE content, maxing your conquest points in the first couple of weeks was definitively helpful.


And the argument is stupid. You still have to grind BG for honor points, even if its a completely different than arena. Or maybe it's fine because both are "pvp"? In the end, this definition is completely arbitrary.

Either way, I would be surprised if blizzard let you get more than the weekly cap. It wouldnt be a good idea to speed up gear progression (because that's usually when people stop playing).

Eh, I'm pretty sure almost every raider would rather grind PvP for gears than 5man dungeons. No one want to grind that.

This arguments pretty silly, all that aside do you guys actually PvP? 1 piece of gear does infact make pretty large impacts. Fighting a warrior with a t1 vs t2 weapon are two completely different animals. This isnt taking into account things like s8 DFO/DBW's, angerforge etc. An extra 4k health or mana could mean the difference between winning or tanking points depending on the team you're facing. It's really not so unreasonable to be mad you'd potentially have to PvE to stay ahead in PvP.

You're talking a warrior, the one class right now that is pumping out enough damage in cooldowns to drop people to 10% and who have a "I win" macro currently floating around to help even the most braindead out with it.

In regards to the weapon, it would be like having to do arena for 1 extra week to get it..and who the fuck cares? Seasons last for a long ass time, it doesn't matter at all. So you can't get up to 2800 in the 1st month because some other people farmed some VP to get ahead of you a little...*shrug* Why the fuck didn't you farm the VP if you are that competitive? Heroics arn't hard, the new bribe system for tanks and healers will probably make the queue shorter.

All I see are people complaining that it's unfair that other players who are more competitive then them, might have a slight advantage at the start.

1 piece of gear is not going to make ANY difference at the start of any season. And by the end of the season if you don't have your full set, then you didn't stand a chance anyways so quit complaining. Shit I pvp casually in the 2's bracket and do 3's with friends and I have enough CP where im buying a sword to replace my mace because I hate how it looks now.

I'm curious why you think it does? The weapon? Sure, the rest? very little. I know you are a godsend and the pvp messiah on these boards, but who gives a fuck. The point of the matter is, if you want to be competitive then grind out some heroics on top of arena, they arn't hard, people in your guild will probably do them as well or even your teammates, and you can do them all for the week in a single day now.

No one said it doesnt matter. We are saying that having 1-2 less pieces for a couple of weeks wouldn't have any significant impact on your season, and the time required to actually get them is very short.

I'm liking how easy it is to get geared in cata... but at the same time kinda depressed of the "gear level checks" as that doesn't really help... needs some other way to gauge performance of a player (I've seen people with an ilvl average of like 344 pull about 8K dps on single/aoe mobs (hunter) and i can pull about 13-16K on single target and 18-25K on aoe with an ilvl of 332 (on my crapacular new first alliance character hunter!).

Although i must say.. survival hunter aoe is absolute hax...! XD
Reminds me of the good ol hunter volley before it got nerfed in wotlk (and where the hell is my arrow shower we once got for like a week like from the mobs from black temple)!

I just played through the 84 quests around orgrimmar leading up to twilight highlands.. and I have to say. It was way more fun than Alliance side. I laughed like 3 times. I might try out the goblin starting area.
